What I'd like to see for Nunu in the next/upcoming patches

Given I wrote this response in another thread, I'd figured I'll just turn this into a thread on its own where I cry about Nunu's rework (well not really, but you get the idea). So here we go:

Nunu needs various nerfs and tweaks for his reworks, mostly on W.

  • Firstly, the turning rate of his W definitely needs to be looked at. It shouldn't be so easy to use Nunu's W in jungle routes and literally running circles in a lane.

  • Secondly, either W's CD or its max channel time needs to get looked at. Running literally half way across the map within a rather short period of time with the "gank ball" on speeding, and having it back every 10 or so second while may be fun to use for the player, it feels incredibly cheap if you put yourself in the shoes of your opponents. Think if Sion can use his ulti every 10 seconds with reduced max distance and speed but instead actually has improved steering freedom, would you feel like playing the game on the other side of Sion's team?

  • Thirdly, the knockup on his W definitely needs to get a look at. On max channel, the knockup feels way too long, especially since you never see the first 2/3 of Nunu coming while charging up the knockup time nor is there any announcer unlike SIon's R. Combined with the first 2 points mentioned above, it makes the long knockup on the current W even more frustrating for the receiving end. Also, the knock up instantly applies even if you just cast it in front of enemy, and I have personally exploited it to my advantage of using it as a CC during a fight when it's clearly not intended as such (and I can do W twice per fight due to its rather short CD as mentioned, once to get into a fight and a second time near the end of it); I suggest Riot needs to give the W at least 2 stages of CC, where pre-X amount of charge time the CC is probably a slow and post-X amount of charge time it becomes a knockup (and do all of the other balance changes I've suggested for Nunu too). I also could've wanted the knockup to be changed into something actually affected by Tenacity, but whatever.

The rest of the kit seems fine, but I'm also kinda not so sure about the rooting part of Nunu's E given his R is already hard enough to escape from on its own, but I can let this go for the time being. The W is a big deal that must be addressed come next patch.

The only issue with his W I have is that its base damage is pretty damn high. Otherwise, meh, its fine as an ability.

His E, however, I feel needs to be looked at. The slow on that is immense and it honestly feels like you don't have any chance at all to escape from him unless you flash or have a mobility. I feel they should really lower the slow value just a hair.

If you need his W too much hed be way worse than his old kit since it doesnt provide as much utility/range
