Honestly, I am not having much fun when I play

It's just about being either stat-checked into death faster than any human can react, or feature-checked by overloaded kits and feel like there's nothing I could do and that I'm just a fodder to their PVE game because some designers have shit for brains when designing champs. And most game-flow is either stomp or be stomped. Oh and, fucking Electrocute, fuck this rune 9 ways to Sunday.

What is the fun of that?

It's why I stick to ARAMs or play something else entirely. Tbh the season was a shitshow from the beginning once people got their heads around the new runes.

I cant wait for season 9 when they at least begin to fix this shitshow. My biggest gripes with this season are as follows:

  • Damage is too high. It reduces skill expression and negates fun.
  • CertainlyT Champs. Mostly Zoe, Akali and Yasuo. All give me major headaches.
  • Games are far too short to enjoy. Most games are decided as soon as you get first tower or 10 minutes into the game. (Whichever comes first).
  • Runes.

Yeah, electrocute really is no fun to play against and I actively avoid it when I play skirmishers and assassins because it's so cheap.

"Missed part of your combo so you didn't flatten that squishy? That's ok, you just get free damage so you do flatten that squishy despite not deserving to. Laning against someone who would normally defeat you? Just win every trade with electrocute until you can dive them and finish the job."

Combine that with summoner 14 and you're basically just starting off every game with a free item 1038.

It's alright when you don't wind up against such obnoxious combos, though. Just play a lot of other games to avoid burnout.

Yes, play ARAM....it's much more fun and even if you get a champ you don't know how to play, everyone accepts it...its part of the ARAM way, SR is much too serious....IF Riot would ever fix the trolling somehow then maybe its worth going back.

I've actually been playing a lot of Metroidvania recently. I just picked up a game called Dead Cells the other day and haven't been able to stop. It's frustrating when I lose and die, but not in the same way that League makes me want to fucking stop playing. It's more like "I could have won that situation if I had been better". I don't tell myself that in League anymore, because there's no such thing as skill in league anymore. Play what wins for freelo, jump to the next freelo when this current freelo gets nerfed

Yeah I agree.

Playing an assassin and late game quinn first auto literally did 1200 damage with Dusk, Stormrazor, RPC. I was so confused. I had no resistances, granted, but I couldn’t even reach her without being 2 shot.

Can we got back to DPS and not front loading ADC and Assassin damage. I liked playing ADC when Stormrazor wasn’t mandatory.

Completely agree, just made my own post on this topic.

I think a lot of it is that the game is such a snowball fest, one person gets all the kills and then the other 9 people (yes, including their team) just get pissed off and don't enjoy the game. The other team obviously is pissed theyre getting stomped..and the fed person's team mates are mad they don't have any kills. They're also prone to rage when the person who has all the kills slips up and blows something. They have all the kills, the game relies on them.

These types of games were always a thing and it was fun when they randomly happened, but now every game is like this. Always blow outs with like 1 person on each team lapping up all the kills and the other 8 just fuckin diddling around waiting for the next game, because, you know- maybe the next game will be the one I get fed in and feel like I can bring something to the table. sadface

Who wants to have to sit down and play 10 games and have maybe 1 or two of them feel like you got powerful enough to contribute?

Game is in the worst place I've ever seen it.

Not to mention, the queues have gotten terrible. Waiting 10+ mins most nights this week and last week. I guess others are feeling the same way?

I uninstalled. Going to play a game where it's fun for 80-100% of the duration I am playing, not 1 out of every 10 half hour matches.

I'll totally come back if they fix this shit, been playing five years and it really does sadden me the game is in such a poor state. But until then ~ =/

*Edit- The new/reworked champs with oversaturated and gimmicky kits is also causing a lot of damage to the game. It started with the Zoe summoner spell stuff, and the "Xayah and Rakan get bonuses when they play together" stuff. The creation of these unique and OP skillsets causes these champs to carve out their own roles that pretty much only they can fill, and as a result every game has them in it and every game takes on similar qualities...the first and foremost of which is boredom, closely followed by frustration.

Expressing your feelings like this is important and valid, but I want to say that I generally don't feel the same way. Even as someone who mains a burst mage (you can guess, I bet), I generally feel like my decision-making is being rewarded more than my skill (since landing one skill shot and killing/crippling someone isn't mechanically difficult). I don't know if I would say that things are great right now; I admit to feeling overwhelmed lately. But generally I think the direction the game is taking is for the better.

If it sounds like I'm trying to discredit at all, that's not my intention. I just feel like my opinion on things doesn't get represented online very much, so I want to express my thoughts, as well. Since again, expressing your feelings like this is important. Lately I've been feeling I should spend my time on other things, but that's just a slow realization I've been gaining for my life priorities, not a denouncement of the current state of the game. I don't think I'll flat out quit any time soon. I at least want to get to a gold level for now.

I've been playing smite recently, and apparently they're suffering from a "burst meta". It feels like it takes 4x longer to kill people in that game than it does in league, so what kind of meta is it in league?

crispy668/10/2018, 4:58:41 PM1 votes

have you thought maybe... don't play ?

JRobin318/10/2018, 5:32:56 PM1 votes

I'm going to hop on the band wagon of overloaded kits because of my recent experience in One for All trying to play champions I never played and desperately trying to read up on them while the game loads.

The fact that RIOT will deliberately go out of their way to round some numbers to the nearest 0 or 5, but let's pass these ridiculously complicated kits is very frustrating. The part of the design process concerned with clarity has clearly failed in a most spectacular fashion.

And then came the rune rework... don't get me started on that mess.

Nobody is having fun, Bro.

I'm sure Season 9 will be at a better state, though. Ghostcrawler has stepped out of the Lead position on League.

Funny thing is, Meddler and Scruffy admitted that Season 8 is garbage right after Ghostcrawler left.
