Reviving an old topic: Report option for smurfs

EDIT: Damnit, people, don't you know to look at an asterisk when you see one? In the old thread, I later stated that I was mistaken on the old thread, and I know that the unskilled report does nothing. Please read the whole thing before commenting.

#Taken directly from the old thread:

So there is an existing report option in the game called "unskilled player", that given enough reports, lowers the MMR of that player, causing them to be placed in queue with lesser-skilled people.*****

*****I appear to be mistaken, please excuse that.

So why not give the option to report someone for being "highly skilled"?

Provided that we get lower-skill players to report those people doing a bit too well;

(I'm talking the people with a score of 37 - 0 - 2)

#SUDDENLY:

Are you also a new player that simply is gifted at the game? No need to play with these noobs, let's get you to a higher skill level, so you can be challenged to learn new tactics and such!

Are you a dirty smurf who is trying to #rekt noobs for the lulz? Screw you, because you got reported so many times, you're eventually gonna be bumped back up to Gold, Plat, Diamond, wherever the hell you came from! (and we hope you stay there)

I'm not saying smurfing will be entirely preventable, but it'll clean up the game for a lot of new players, so they can peacefully enjoy learning the game with a nice learning environment. (And not diamond riven mains yelling at you)

And the poor level 15 smurf will be so confused when he's constantly matched up against people in Plat. Poor guy.

This is great! Are you sure about unskilled report, though? I'm pretty sure unskilled report will lower MMR.

The thing is that I don't think unskilled actually does anything. Most of the report actions that are for actual offenses don't do anything, so I don't see why the clearly placebo choice would.

except for the fact that most new players despise playing 30's because of the rune pages can actually give an edge for match ups. although would a new player who enjoys and excels be put into a poisition of punishment for doing good, I'm not against smurfing players they limit themselves in runes and champions, but the people that use a level 5 with their diamond platnium friend. to increase their champion mastery points

No its not needed. Its not forbidden to make another account and simply try climbing again. Also people would permanently report everybody in the enemy team for smurfing. Also a guy who simply doesnt play a lot of ranked and then suddendly stomps in his ranked games could be reported as well, too many possibilities of abuse. Just because somebody is better doesnt mean he should be reportable for that, its a competetive game, learn something from that instead of crying about facing one.
