Over Season 5 one? No. Over Season 6 one, yes.
Everyone complained when S6 ones were on the PBE, Season 3 and 4 looked the best cuz they were thicker and looked more promising rather than these super slim Season 6 ones that look like plastic decorations.

And I've screwed up, I wanted to say "So you are saying you prefer the season 5 border over the season 6 one?". And, people complained about the Borders when they first hit PBE. Which was in the version which wasn't finished. After that, Riot worked on them a little bit more and when we got to see how the finished version would look people stopped complaining.
rtbf2256182411 votesI don't care. Maokai is weak at the moment, his kit is bland and pretty worthless aswell in the current meta and nothing is exciting about him. He's not even unique in any way other than his ultimate. His base stats are low, his damage is low and he gets outclassed by almost every top laner in the meta currently cuz he's melee and his passive is absolutely pointless. Unless he gets massive buffs, i'm not feeding my ass off on him just to see a few gold decorations on him and a recall that makes no sense. Well maybe one game just to try out the skin but nothing beyond that honestly. I tried him recently and he's horrible when it comes to teamfighting and has no outplay potential cuz his kit relies on jumping on the enemy and hoping you'll one-shot them or something.
What? People did complain about the S6 borders, the borders themselves didn't get changed. They changed the "beans" that we called the division markers. I don't have a problem with them even though they have no clarity whatsoever and i can't even remember which one is which. Regardless, the borders didn't change at all. They look like plastic frames in the corners while the previous ones were thicker and more metall-y. Have you seen the Diamond borders from Season 4?
