A cost for Knockups

As we all know knockup effects completely ignore tenacity. It's not like regular CC, where you would prefer to use it on some targets over others. You may prefer to knock the squishy carries up, but it's normally not a big deal if you hit other targets instead. It's not like you're using your snare on a 60% tenacity Irelia or something, it's going to have it's full effect regardless.

What if there was a downside to knocking up certain champions? I'm talking big champions, like Malphite, Nautilus, or high stack Cho'Gath. They could be naturally resistant to it, or perhaps have a small knockback or stun effect when they land, something to make CC placement a little more important in a team fight. If the effect works well enough it could even get a watered down version attached to Elixir of Iron.

I'm sure I've missed some pretty glaring issues with this, but that's the point of a board discussion! What does everyone think about this?

While I think this is an interesting idea, I think it'd be much better to do one of 2 things:

A) Have knockups be reduced by tenacity (sry Yasuo)

or

B) Have knockup duration be reduced on a scale based on bonus health.

With A, you add more value to tenacity, but I think it's already pretty viable.

B accomplishes what you are kind of getting at without making it restricted by champion. Tanky champions are typically bigger anyway and therefore should not stay in the air as long.

How about this instead?

Enchantment: Gravity (for boots)

Reduces the effectiveness of displacement effects by 35%. Does not affect non-displacement crowd control.

Against heavy knockup teams that don't have much CC outside of knockups, this is very strong. But, it denies other boots enchants. So it means you can't have it and Alacrity, Homeguard, or Furor. So do you get Gravity to fight their knockups, or do you get your other enchant anyway because you need it for your champion?

Why change what isn't broken?

Displacement CC already includes a cost, in that its duration is almost always shorter than comparable conventional hard CC.
