Why do people use attack speed marks with AD quints?
I see this occasionally, especially on junglers.
Why the hell do you do this? Using attack speed quints and ad marks gives you more AD for only 1% less attack speed.

The reason why is because a lot of people had the AS marks and AD quints before the buffs to AS quints. Nobody wants to buy a whole new rune set for 1% more attack speed.

Marks - 1.7% Attack Speed, 0.95 AD Quints - 4.5% Attack Speed, 2.25 AD
In terms of attack speed, each quint is worth roughly 2.647 Marks In terms of attack damage, each quint is worth roughly 2.368 Marks
So yep, OP is correct. It's better to get attack speed quints and attack damage marks rather than the other way around. Now buying AS quints.
I just use all AS quints and marks for 29% total AS.
Because before the S4 Rune-changes it had been more efficient than the other way around...so either they didn´t do the math after the changes or they don´t have the IP to change Runes.
In the past, AS marks + AD quints gave 5% MORE AS for only 1.8 less AD. Then they buffed AS quints but some people either didn't do the math after the buffs or didn't want to spend IP on AS quints.
Also, if you don't want to sacrifice that 1% AS, you can use 8 AD marks + 1 AS mark + AS quints and get more AD than AD quints + AS marks.

Maybe they haven't been able to buy Attack Speed Quints yet? I mean there are plenty of people that jungle with AD marks and runes because all they have is an AD page and an AP page. I really would love to customize 20 rune pages to fit my needs in every match, but I did not spend $100 on this game or play it for 2 years straight without buying any champions over 450 IP.
Because very few people use AD quints, since there are better options like MS or life steal or almost any other type.
I own all the runes and rune pages and champions this matters very little to me.
