Accuracy | Does it matter?
There have been a few threads out there asking for more data to be collected in post-game lobbies. One of the most notorious is Gold Fed. Another needs to be Accuracy. Here's my idea and I've spoken with a few other players who share the same thoughts:
Most Blitzcrank players know that if you're going to play Blitz, you're pressured to not miss your Q's often because you're certain to get called out. Well screw that! There are a plethora of skill-shot oriented champions out there and almost none of them get called out as frequently as Blitz does. So what's the point? We need (yes NEED) Accuracy added into post-game match histories.
What does Accuracy mean?
Accuracy is simple. It's skill-shots landed / skill-shots total. It would be read like this In Match history: "x/42." X being skill-shots landed. 42 being the total.
Why is this important?
Wouldn't you like to know how often you actually are landing skill-shots with a champion? I'm sure you could probably memorize the number in each-game that you've hit or missed, but why bother when it's posted at the end of each match or in the match history. Knowing your Accuracy will tell you how good you are with each champion's skill-shots and will give you an idea of where you need to improve.
How does it help your team?
It gives everyone an understanding of how they should improve their aim. Plain and simple. If your teammate Ahri is missing every shot most of the game, maybe she needs practice in a custom game or Normal match practicing her aim. This will help her gain an understanding of how to improve for the future and to be a better Ahri in her groups with friends in the future.
What if my champion doesn't have skill-shots? Do I have zero accuracy?
The naysayers will say this is why this stat shouldn't be added. However I believe it should be added regardless of non-skill-shot oriented champions.
It would read N/A (Not Applicable) on the post-game screen. Even champions like Tryndamere who have a dash which technically needs to be aimed would be left exempt because he uses it a lot for movement instead of actually doing minimal AP damage.
Would Accuracy be only shown in the post-game lobby and match history?
If done right, no. Each champion you own should have an average accuracy for all Normal and Ranked games on your Champions list in your profile. A player can hover over a champion icon to see a tooltip with Accuracy, perhaps even games won or lost. This will give you a better understanding for each specific champion. Games played in Custom or Co-op vs AI would not contribute to this average because those modes are for practicing skill-shots. They would appear in those modes in your match history, just not in the Champions screen.
What do you think? Should accuracy be added? Why? Why not?
