Why do you have to be alive to receive Baron buff?

Per title. It seems a little odd to me that you have to be alive in order to gain the Baron buff.

Let's say you start a big team fight around Baron, other team contests, most of your team (let's say all but you, for argument's sake) dies, and you manage to secure to the buff. Now you, and only you have the buff. And that's if you don't die afterwards.

Just seems like a pointless dynamic - just make it team-wide...

So you can't sucide your team into it and still get full benefit.

You will learn in time on your own when you realize how strong Baron buff really is.

Because you lose it upon your death.

So if you're dead at the time when you receive it, then you don't get it, because you lose it when you die which you already are.

Get it?

Everyone still gets the gold. Part of baron fighting is resource management. The game would just end if a team got ful wiped all but one and then ame back. To mitigate the effects people contest and try and clean up anyone who might have pbtained
