Kass needs a change.

Change Kass' Q to a general shield not just a poor magic resist one. Its so bad that it is actually sad. We have these stupid assassins running around freely and it makes Kass unplayable since his kit is completely around APs. At least give us something with a flat shield on q it would make him so much more playable than this stupid magic resistance shield.

So the fact that Kassadin had a 94% Pick-Ban rate in Plat+, and a 100% Pick Ban rate in Professional Play, back in Season 3 I believe. You want to strengthen his weaknesses? The ability to be virtually ungankable level 6+, chase anyone down, run away from anyone that's fed? You want to make him stronger?

LOL

Personally I think Kassadin would only need a slight buff, and not to make him non anti-mage like he is, but that's back in season 3. When he was first added he was OP as fuck and basically had infinite mobility. This isn't Season 3.

Two years ago fool. If by that logic lets never buff any champion that's ever been decent or picked. Your logic is stupid.

Coming up to the end of Season 5, you are Silver 5. Back in season 4 you were Silver as well. You have zero grounds to talk about changes that will alter the entire gameplay of League if you can't even understand how this game works. Your logic is stupid my friend.

You're basically saying "because im a higher rank than you im smarter."

This was 2 seasons ago. A lot has changed. Heck, the entire map has changed, the jungle has changed, the meta has changed, there's now even a melee in bot lane, the top is no longer an island, weaker champs and stronger and stronger champs are weaker and things have changed! A lot of things change in two years no matter what you're talking about.

By your logic, because Skarner was weak several patches ago he needs buffed. But because he was super strong a couple of patches ago he also needs nerfed. You've created a loop. You need to buff this guy because he was strong in this patch, but nerf him because he was strong in this patch. Its no longer 2013, don't think it is because it only makes you look stupid and naive. And don't pull the elophant card because you have to know you're wrong, else you must be an adolescent because only a child could be so naive as to believe a philosophy like that and not be trolling or drunk or something of the sort.

I never once said that because I'm Platinum and he is Silver means I'm going to be right all the time. I just can't comprehend that someone that is Silver, after playing this game for ~2 years, thinks they know enough about it to change an entire champion's ability? Please.

Hey idiot you might wanna check your facts. I've played since season 1. And trust me I could probably rebalance this game to a point where it would be good and if anythings op I would actually put out hotfixes to stop the rampage rather than wait almost a month to fix it and let it cripple the game. I called the juggernaut update was going to cripple the game because they refuse to actually use the PBE for what its meant for. And for a few weeks to a month we have all been banning the updated champs and still only have 6 bans total. I still think we need 8 or 10 just to keep up with the champion pool since we've always had 6 it doesn't even keep up with the times. I would wager I could probably balance the game better than you could regardless of what rank either of us are. I'm extremely unlucky to the point I will go up to silver 3 then play with my friends and drop to silver 5 and make it back up in pretty much no time. I just don't find the game enjoyable enough to play alone anymore. So you can go through the trolls and crap to get your ranking. I'll just play with my friends who suck but I at least enjoy playing with. Also I have pretty much every champ kit memorized because I have played the game that much. I can tell you what should be scaled down on each kit to bring it into balance and fix whats wrong with most champs.

Ok buddy, keep telling yourself that. You Played this game for 4 years and are still Silver. That clearly shows you are not capable of reworking it be "perfect".

Icefoxemily1 votes

Never said it would be perfect. I'd just do it far better than you and make it almost perfect. Things always slip by but that's the point of hotfixing. Riot doesn't understand that. Instead of changing the jugs quickly to people who aren't eating up 4 of our bans a match they let them run on a rampage. Also this game is trash now anyways that's why I don't have the motivation to get that high on ladder. I enjoyed the game when being good with a few champions made you skilled now its all about conterpick and how good you are at the lane matchups. Even the casters said that during worlds. This game is a joke and its about conterpicking now. If you get counterpicked you lose lane unless the person never played that champion enough to get the basic mechanics down. Or if you have your jungler camp you and lose other poor lane matchups because of it. This game lost what it was about 3 years ago. Season 1 I was bronze elo. Season 2 I was low silver and season 3 I was high silver borderline low gold if it wasn't for trolls. Since then I've been silver because I don't care enough to improve. I want the game to improve then I'll come back to play it on a serious level. Till then sad people like you can sit there and grind all day for your ranking on a broken game. I'll be talking about how to fix and improve it while you people don't.

Its funny because I'm sure the balance team isn't challenger or that high up either. So technically your logic is still trash and tbh if your going to be this much of an ass about it just quit the game. Trust me your teams will be thankful.

Changing the ability to make his shield block all dmg vs just magic is pretty game changing mechanic. He can now be picked into champions like Talon, Yasuo, Zed; he can shield last second on scuttle crab if he is ignited, he can shield baron and dragon. You are telling me that changning a shield is not changing a champion's ability?

I referenced Kassadin back then because as Riot develops champs and buffs/nerfs; everyone learns what needs to be done to a champ to keep him/her/it in check. Yes, I was referencing information about a champion that is 2 years old. But it's to show the mistakes that were made, so we don't cross that path again. You're over here telling me that we should not look to the past because all the information is outdated? So explain to me how people learn to fix problems, if we can't learn from them.

I used the fact that Kassadin was extremely over-powered back then, he wasn't kept in check and counter picks didn't do much against him. Now you want to give him a shield that will increase the chance that we will potentially get that back?

Its a small shield as it is. Meanwhile Talon, Yasuo, and Zed are still mobile and his passive still only blocks magic damage. Not to say I like this change but its not game-changing as you say it is, it isn't going to make him top-notch in the meta and overpowered as Azir was a few patches ago.

That was not what you were saying, you were saying you don't want him touched period because he WAS OP. Heck, this guy is proposing the changing of his shield when back when he was broken it was his damage and mobility that were the problem not his defense, so that argument is completely invalid.

I used the fact that Kassadin was extremely over-powered back then, he wasn't kept in check and counter picks didn't do much against him. Now you want to give him a shield that will increase the chance that we will potentially get that back?

I'm sorry I didn't realize a 160 health shield at rank 5(pretty much takes until level 8 to get even if you skip the ult, level 9 if you actually take his ult which is a must anyway so you obviously will), with a measly 30% AP ratio that obviously isn't affected by magic pen. would change the entire game and make him extremely OP and broken and a top-of-the-meta champ.

What you're proposing is that we not touch him at all even though he's in a terrible spot right now, just because he was OP at one point. He's completely out of meta right now, he's barely viable even against mages who he's supposed to counter, especially top-line ones like Ahri and Azir, and Veigar is doing well against him too because of his anti-mage ult which, Kassadin is an AP-mage/assassin, and yet you want him to stay that way, almost forgotten because of how crap and almost useless he is.

Let's see, Kassadin doesn't counter Azir, Azir has some strong poke at level 2, Invalid. Kassadin doesn't counter Ahri either, She has sustain and poke, plus if he tried to all in she would just ult away or counter engage. Veigar, idk why you would try and say Veigar is at somewhat of at a disadvantage, both are extremely weak early and both receive power spikes at level 6.

You are not making any sense and it seems that our opinions are getting nowhere. I never said I didn't want Kassadin buffed. Giving his a shield to block all damage is not the right way I believe. So you keep believing that is the way to go and I'll keep believing it isn't.

Shroom Junkie1 votes

I said that Kassadin is supposed to counter mages but even fails at that, not that he does counter them. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

And, you implied you didn't. You used proof from 2 years ago and said that it means you don't want a repeat of history where he's super OP, and therefore don't want a buff. I personally have said I didn't like the shield idea because I like him being an anti-mage assassin, but that he does need buffs. You said no and said that you don't want a repeat of history. I said that this is a completely different buff than what would make him strong and you're fighting against something you haven't even seen in play yet and then you just went into now talking about opinions and saying that you aren't against him getting buffed contrary to your previous posts.

Ya sorry I had a job for a year and a half. I was kinda busy busting my ass for a thankless company. Also season 3 I was silver 1 and on promo about 4 times but loss to afks and trolls till I'd go down to silver 4 usually. So I know I'm skilled if I slightly care. But the games been so imbalanced recently I just don't focus enough to play. All these overloaded kits and screwed over old champs.

Your ability to learn the game has nothing to do with time spent on it. You can play 1 game a year, and if you actually have the want to LEARN the game, you will know more than some 12 year old kid that has 100 games in 1 month. The work you put in = the reward, that is basic life skills.

Nor does the rank have anything to do with the understanding of the game directly.

One might say Bronze and Silver do not have a full grasp of the game as a whole and you can be mostly correct (but not actually correct), however anything higher than Gold and above simply shows the time that one has spent on this game and nothing more.

Mechanical superiority do not represent knowledge in the greater scheme of things. A grand tactician who can devise countless layers of planning might only have the fighting power of a foot soldier, and a general who have killed thousands might not know about warfare beyond a handful of strategies. It's just how it is.

Also,

The work you put in = the reward, that is basic life skills.

This logic only works in the realm of low level academia like highschool and below. Anything above that is a combination of cunning, effort and luck. Effort do not always translate into reward in a 1 to 1 ratio, sometimes it's 1 to 10, other times it's 100 to 0.

kassadin jsut won for skt in world championships so obviously he cant be that bad.

Olaf mid won for faker. That doesn't make it amazing.

Fiveofswords1 votes

having typical top lanes go mid is not all that strange at the high elo...its not even trolling really. Mid and top are basically the same jsut that top normally needs to run tp. But as far as the meta goes its not a huge difference

anyway nobody went nuts over the kassadin pick. people jsut said oh yeah thats logical vs fizz. Didnt seem to be underpowered at all.

Icefoxemily1 votes

Ya but the point is just because it worked in worlds doesn't mean it shouldn't be buffed or changed. The buff I'm talking about isn't even amazingly godly. Just an update so he can actually be played against zed and other champions like that. Ya against fizz he would be fine because that's what his shield is for right now but I'm saying it should be more generally good.

Make it prot from monster dmg than it can jungle than it can play yet isnt that big buffed

Icefoxemily1 votes

That would be interesting but I'm just saying for a shield it would be nice don't even change his MR passive. It wouldn't be an insane buff it would just let him play against ad midlaners that are popular.

I think Kass needs a slight buff, but only slight. And nothing that strays from his anti-mage game style.

Icefoxemily1 votes

I agree its just when you have champions like Zed, Yas and sometimes talon on ladder all over the place hes nearly unplayable with his current weakness to them.

Yeah, it's not like he can totally rush this item that gives him a ton of offensive and defensive stats or anything...

It was to reference how powerful that champion was. I was not playing League of Legends that long ago but everyone talks about how bad Kassadin was back then. That champion late game, even to this day, is super toxic to play against. He has an extremely powerful mid-late game. I would pref to keep his early game extremely poor because if you buff that, he will just steamrole everything, like he use too.
