Does anyone else think that summoner spells need to be looked at?

Like Heal, Ignite, Exhaust, and FLASH being the main 4 you barely ever see anyone need to use the other six.

Most people don't see a reason to take cleanse, clarity, barrier or usually ghost too.

Sure barrier is better verse ignite than heal but it's not better in a team fight.

Sure ghost will gap close much better than flash but it's so much slower and can't go over terrain so flash is taken all the time over ghost (sometimes paired with it like with Hecarim or Rammus )

But clarity and cleanse? Nobody uses them.

Now you took away my bread and butter clairvoyance, so I'm wondering what's holding you back? Why aren't you removing clarity and cleanse?

I see lots of mid laners take Ghost Flash I see lots of jungles take Ghost if they don't have a good gap closer or just want to stick to their target. Watching LCS and such I see lots of people take cleanse on the mid lane as well if there are some hard cc they want to get out of.

The mana one I can understand, but really it's kind of needs an update.

Been taking ghost a lot more lately, helps to escape if I can move through units.

That and I fail flash more than faker did at worlds.

I'm bronze so no one in my game can punish me for not having flash as well as higher elos probably could.
#I feel like Ghost could be sleeper OP in bronze

because it's helped me get out of messy situations that flash wouldn't have been helpful in.

I laugh when people tell me to take flash because it actually cripples my ability to do well.

I know none of this makes probably makes sense, but yea... I stopped taking flash a long while ago.


As a support, I miss Clarity. It was such a great support spell. It's very nifty with ADCs who are Mana Hungry, and as a support it helped me spam my abilities more

I would actually go Clarity Exhaust Soraka. it was literally HELL for the enemy botlane.. Like having Old Soraka back..

Soraka: "Merry Christmas have some mana, merry Christmas have some mana." Adc: You gonna do that all game? Soraka" MERRY CHRISTMAS HAVE SOME FUCKING MANA!"

and what was even greater about it.. is that Clarity didn't just affect the two closest people.. BUT EVERYONE.. So if your team was group up you could use it and Boom.. Instant mana for a second enguage after teamfight.

Heal actually heals more than Barrier blocks from Ignite since Ignite deals its damage over 5 seconds and Barrier only lasts two.

Regardless, your general observation is accurate. Summoner spells are drastically out of skew in terms of power and have been for a very long time.

Barrier and Cleanse should probably be combined into one spell. The overlap between situations where you want to remove CC and block damage are typically pretty high, so it's a pretty solid fit.

Flash should be split into two Summoners. One for traversing a small distance instantly, but unable to bypass walls, and a second for bypassing walls via a single-user Magical Journey style effect. That would make the former more reliable as an initiation tool while the latter would open up some really interesting gank paths that would be unavailable otherwise.

i want more choices

i want that summoner spell that gave attack speed for the same duration as ghost so i can lvl 1 cheese with master Yi again. i want revive back because it was hilarious to use it on champs like zilean aatrox and zac.

what about that one that allowed you to buff up turrets? i used to love that waaay back as a support.

Clarity isn't taken because it doesn't scale well at all. Flash is universal.

The others are mostly used as counters (like Barrier against assassins or Cleanse against Liss/Cass/TF) and Ghost is really strong on some mid/top laners or junglers. Except for summoner 13 ... you might as well remove that one tbh

Over my games I've seen a fair bit of people use barrier mid or flash ghost. I've also seen an odd cleanse or two

There all basically used just some more than others......

It would be cool if they added more summoner spells but honestly its not that big of a deal. Certain spells are always going to trump others and become most popular.

Like back in prior seasons when heal was shit then summoner 21 was used instead...... but that didn't change the number of spells used just changed heal and barrier priority and popularity around.....

So besides some new summoner spells not sure what you looking for.

Generally, as a Kat main I take very odd summoners and builds against matchups.

For example, a Malz is a very hard counter to me, I take cleanse + a QSS, I end up selling the QSS very late game and getting more MR.

If I know I won't be going agro, or we need map pressure, I take TP, and often tell my bot lane to put a ward in an area behind them where it's not warded for a double.

Possibly to make unusual/rare SSs more used, they could use a buff.

Clarity? Yeah.. That needs a major buff, possibly for a period of a time it could increase your CDR by 10%, it could ignore CDR cap..

summoner 21 needs to be buffed in some way. Whether it be the shield amount or a use buff, it needs to be buffed. summoner 1 is really weird and most people that would want it are in the Jungle, where you basically are required to have Smite+Flash or Smite+Ghost. summoner 13 Isn't in Summoner's Rift summoner 14 Is actually weak in my opinion right now outside of a few Supports and in VS Healing match ups.

I like ghost better if my champion relies on sustain, drawn out fights to do damage.

Flash is probably better for squishies who favor burst type damage or who need that extra layer of comfort to escape if necessary. Most immobile mage's/ADC's probably do better with Flash for the most part.

In general Exhaust will save your team mate or yourself and quite possibly turn the fight in your favor. Especially see this in bot lane or top.

Teleport is pretty popular top and mid for that quick base heal, buy and get back to lane instantly run. If your team is not running at least 1 TP your map pressure will be severely limited and may give the enemy team who is running it a large advantage over objectives.

Ignite I think is more for a snowball champion who live or die in usefulness by whether or not they get that kill before their enemy is level 6.

Heal mostly for bot lane early-mid game.

Everything else is kind of low end in usefulness but it's not as bad as the OP made it out to be.

Cleanse is useful. Clarity I never see. Flash needs a nerf of some kind. It's used on EVERY champ outside of Olaf or Hec.

summoner 6 is decent now, and i have used it for the first time this season since i unlocked flash summoner 13 is trash summoner 21 i used to use but frankly takingsummoner 3 mid is better now summoner 12 i used to frequently take but sadly it isn't that great anymore because of the increased channel time summoner 1 i pretty much don't ever take, i might take it if ti removed supression but its not worht it

so the core spells are summoner 4 pretty much any champ that doesn't take this, either is taking summoner 6 or is an idoit, (or you know thier Shaco and gets one every 11 seconds, because.. some person at riot thought that was ok..) summoner 7 for bot lane adc summoner 11 because you know... jungle. summoner 3 for support and facing AD mids summoner 14 for mid or facing a Vladimir or DrMundo top

i would love to usesummoner 12 more often.. but.. sadly with the cooldown increase.. the removal of the lower cooldown when tping to a turret. and the channel increase. its just not worth it unless you're top or Ziggs
