Why the heck can enemies use QSS in Morde's ult?

BeatzBoyFTW··9 votes·4,985 views

Was playing Morde in quite a number of games, and I've noticed that when I've ulted the enemy, he can literally use QSS to escape the Death Realm. Is this actually intended? The enemy was obviously in no way stunned, slowed or suppress at all.

Counter play

Elaborate. His ult doesn't even CC his opponents.

Remember you could qss Zed’s ult in the past? It’s a debuff so the code for qss kicks in. It’s one of those if than things. If champ is debuffed THAN remove the debuff, that’s how qss is coded.

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

Then doesn't that make it a Bug rather than a feature. You weren't suppose to cleanse debuffs anymore now.

Phieldworker1 votes

If they don’t want it to happen (a bug) they will address it.

Remember you could qss Zed’s ult** in the PAST**?

As you said, that's how it was IN THE PAST, and then they changed QSS to only emove CC and no longer debuffs

V6.9:

Unique Active - Quicksilver now only cleanses Crowd control debuffs.

So it no longer is coded to remove debuffs, which means mordes ult should not get removed.

Phieldworker2 votes

It’s a suppression still so that’s why qss recognizes it as cc.

Sire Hippington1 votes

It's not suppresion, suppresion prevents the target from moveing, attacking, useing skills, items and even summoners. Mordes ult does non of that.

Phieldworker1 votes

Well I’m all out of guesses then. All I know is it’s recognizing it as some sort of cc that can be cleansed. It is called the death realm so it’s something the holy qss can get rid of.

  1. ADCs cannot 1v1 a morde and need a reliable escape from it

  2. It is basically a 7 second CC taking you out of the game.

steven45474661 votes

But it isn't a CC, and if it were intended why does cleanse, the CC clearing summoner spell not work?

DanWaRRiel1 votes

Because its coded as suppresion i guess. You cant cleanse malz ult either

NoPaxt2 votes

Sure, but Morde's ult shouldn't cancel Kalista's ult or Shem's either, but it does...

BeatzBoyFTW2 votes

Both of their ults aren't Unstoppable.

Chembaron Yamada2 votes

So you indirectly confirm here that Mordekaiser's ult is a CC (since this is the only reason for you to mention that they are not unstoppable). QSS removes CC. Case closed.

BeatzBoyFTW2 votes

Huh? I mean sure you're in a different dimension, but you have absolutely complete freedom to move around that new circle. Additionally, Morde interrupting Shen or Kai'Sa(?)'s ult is similar to being interrupted/trapped by Camille's ult.

You make completely no sense while rushing to such a conclusion.

Then I demand the ability to use QSS to get out of Camille ult. Aswell as remove Fiora's ult.

Chembaron Yamada4 votes

Fiora's ult is not really comparable to Mordekaiser's, don't get how you came up with that idea.

About Camille, did you know that the text of her ultimate directly states this:

The target can move freely inside the zone, but cannot escape it through any means.

As a player of pen&paper games like DnD and DSA, I would claim that specific rules > general rules. Which means that "cannot escape it through any means" has priority, which means that QSS should not work here.

Because upending a sashful of mercury over your head is obviously the best way to prematurely end your temporary visit to Corpse Town.

Actually, no one else can be seen in the Death Realm, just you and Morde. Where the dead people at?

Everyone who has ever died went to the good afterlife Morde was promised just fine. And the only person who didn't end up there is just Morde, which explains this.

Maybe.

The better question: Why do mordes always use thier ults on secured kills both with no enemies around and in the middle of teamfights taking themselves out of it?

FOR JUSTICE1 votes

thats intended, because otherwise its kind of busted to just remove someone from their team for seven seconds. its just another malzahar tax.

also the tooltip of QSS removed all crowd control debuffs, and mord ult steals some of their core stats. so thats probably one reason.

SUPERIORFlavor1 votes

Olaf's ult can take him out of it too. I think any champ ability that cleanses gets rid of it.. like Ali ult and gp orange. But the cleanse summoner spell doesn't work.

KICK OUT AT 21 votes

It's fine. Don't ult people with qss, they're probably an adc anyways and you never want to ult someone that can kite you. Ult the support or someone easy for a free kill.

Salron1 votes

It is intentionally coded as a suppression to allow that

SiG DxD1 votes

so can you also qss fiora ult and others because they apply debuff to you and counterplay

Makarakarn1 votes

I'd rather it be QSS'd than for Riot to implement some of..ideas some of the boards has had. The thing is, sure, you can build QSS, but not everyone is going to. Even if 1-2 do, there are 5 people on the enemy team you can ult.

Feel Apathy1 votes

It's the new jarvan cataclysm apparently.

Most champions back in the day were locked if flash was missing, now most champions dash out or break the wall.

Rengar's empowered W teleports him out, Zed can use his clone to TP outside the realm.

Unethical how a champion whose kit is balanced around his ult and the 1v1 potential can't even have the luxury of smacking someone.

Guess people were right that you should just summoner 4 > R the support and return for a 5v4.

Urgot "What!? Never seen that Before"

DanWaRRiel1 votes

it actually steals stats so in some of a way you are getting impaired in your actions

Mc Raton1 votes

How does QSS even work for Morde ult? Because his ult is basically a slow and once the slow is over you get warped to the other dimension. Do they QSS and get out of range or QSS in your ult dispelling it entirely ?

Śhunpo1 votes

Thank god they can, that ability has literally 0 counterplay right now.

DemainaNyx1 votes

It's coded as a suppression. When Morde points at his target, him and his target are suppressed for a second. If you QSS at that moment, it cancels the ult. I don't know if you can QSS later and escape once in the death realm, but you can during that 1 second.

It's the same with Urgot ult. If you wait until the chains are dragging you back to Urgot, you can QSS it. You can also use unstoppable abilities to avoid being dragged back at all like Sion ult, etc.

Akali is SO HOT1 votes

It's horrible design that's why. Basically the most overpowered ability in the game if you don't have QSS.
