Riot kinda ruined their own April fool's joke for me...

So I queued up for a normal game tonight, and in the loading screen, I realized that all the enemies were "bots". (It was obvious since they didn't all instantly appear to be 100% loaded). We got crushed, especially by their Annie. The worst part, and reason why I can't stand this prank is because Riot matched my friend and I (both Bronze 2) against a 5-man plat team. Like really guys? I thought you agreed to prevent solos/duos from being paired against larger parties. Also, what's the point of preventing me from queuing with my diamond friend when I end up playing against diamonds anyways.

Overall I'm certain that this could have been a funny joke, but Riot ruined it by replacing their perfectly fine matchmaking system with one that forgoes all rules of common sense and past precedents.

A glance at your match history shows that while you did face off against a 5 man, the highest rank amongst them was gold 5. Meanwhile, you had a plat 5 on your own team (who was queued with an unranked level 30, hence being in the same game as you).

That's just normal normals matchmaking at work, with the whole bots thing simply being a cosmetic overlay more or less without touching matchmaking itself.

That's only in Ranked Flex matches

I don't think they replaced match making.

It's Normal, Normal games have their own MMR independent of Ranked, with no restricts on who you queue with. That's always been the case for Normal games.
