Yasuo is not as OP as everyone says

Hello everyone!

I've recently been seeing more and more hate posts about the state of Yasuo. Not only do these criticize this one champion more than he deserves, they don't seem to see the bigger picture of League of Legends.

I often refer to a circle that I created. This circle mostly tells what class of champion counters another. It goes like this:

Tank beats assassin Assassin beats fighter Fighter beats tank Mage beats tank Juggernaut beats everone except for mage (they should have enough cc)

THIS IS ONLY MOST OF THE TIME!

Yasuo is categorized as an assassin/fighter in the store. How can you beat this in midlane? Play a very safe mage. Anivia, Ryze, Karthus are some good examples.

What's that? You don't know how to play any of those champs? Fear not, for there is still hope.

Play another assassin! Play someone who can easily pop his flow shield with little to no danger of being damage while doing so (Akali Q, Zed Q, maybe Talon W). I prefer Akali because once 6, she can all-in repeatedly. This means that Yasuo's flow shield might not be ready from theast time she ulted to him 10 seconds ago.

There are some great options for you to play next time you see a Yasuo first-picked. I know that there are more, but these were the first to come to my mind.

Lastly, an response to the question that everyone asks - "y yasuo gotta be op?". He's not, you just played the wrong champion against him.

Thanks for reading, -Me actually

Assassin beats fighter

i already stopped reading here.

OT: yasuo is toxic to play against because he can just dash forever, negating any skillshots, nobody claims he is OP. all the yasuo threads were warlord's bloodlust being OP; but it got nerfed.

Left Hook Larry3 votes

False, he can't dash forever. He needs minions. And if he decides to dash through them then he's pushing the wave and he can only dash once through a minion

Fieryfury31 votes

Every 6 seconds on the same object at max rank is basically unlimited duh

Yasuo's problem isn't being OP, it is that he is Season 1 Tryndamere levels of annoying.

TehNACHO2 votes

To be fair to the Yasuo arguments, most of them are that Yasuo is annoying, not necessarily op.

EDIT Also you have the "circle" all wrong.

It's not even a circle wtf

I'll just leave Ross's video here for people's laughs. Watch it all the way through for info on Ross's thoughts (satirical mostly).

Fighter beats tank

Um.. what? Tanks outlast fighters, that's literally their role.

Varies on the tank and the fighter. For the most part tanks can beat fighters, but if the fighter is designed to do % HP damage, then this might not be the case.

I was thinking of a matchup like Irelia vs Nasus or something similar.

Even if his circle is slightly off his point is relevant. Yasuo doesn't beat everything, but most mid laners he does beat if he is played correctly or they play incorrectly which is what happens most of the time.

Mage beats tank

LOOOOOOOL I just stopped reading there

A majority of the posts say he needs to be nerfed, which implies op, which he is not.

Since when did assassins beat fighters? Assassins should beat adcs and mages while vs a fighter they usually just get out sustained

And since when did mages beat tanks, once you build 1 MR item mage's damage is laughable unless fed then you could build maybe 1 more mr item then proceed to continue laughing (I still laugh that people thought mages were dead even though they were just being more well placed to take out squishies but vs tanks you need someone else to really do it which is great since tanks were pretty subpar before)

Juggernauts can only beat units who can't CC them down or kite them and most mages/marksmen can do that just like tanks can lock em down for the mages/marksmen even further.

And even though assassins usually kill mages/marksmen mages that know how to play destroy assassins since they can usually outfarm and zone the assassin off farm.

Just so you know Anivia is not entirely a good pick into Yasuo. With his less than a second dash it's almost impossible to hit him with a Q, and once you hit level 6, he could just wall your R>E combo. Not to mention since he has strong wave clear with no resource, he would just push her to tower and force Anivia to either go OOM to clear/farm under tower or lose all that CS.

Personally, my biggest problem with Yasuo is the bs double crit. He shouldn't be able to reach 100% crit with just 1 and a half items. I was alright back in season 5 when he needed 2 full items + crit runes to reach max crit, but now it's just like Shiv + cloak of agility and then your set. Plus with the mastery of getting 15% life steal off of a crit is to strong on him, even if it only applies on champions now.

If they were to lower down his crit down to 1.5 times instead of double, then I'll be alright with it. That way with Infinity Edge, and Shiv that would be 75% crit, and he'll reach his 100% crit after a Zeal/Trinity Force.

I feel like the yasuo player has to be better to win. Anivia just does so much damage and can wall you away from her plus her ultimate slow and decently long ranged autos

This guy is trolling right? Please go the MEMES section with this post.

Play yasuo and see if he is trolling.

I remember reading him as fighter/assassin.

Fieryfury31 votes

Yeah primary is fighter. That's why he doesn't really do a ton of damage until later where he can become an assassin if building the right items. I think of him as a less tanky bruiser and less bursty assassin but he can lean more toward one side if he wants. You can build Lee straight damage or xin straight damage ect. They will kill you just about as fast anyway.
