Well that was known fact. Support and ADC were always least popular roles because they relied most on someone else. Jungler follows because he is reliant on laners too. Mid and top mostly rely on themselves so they aremost popular.

I find that graph misleading, I actually get top almost 100% of the time when I queue Jungle/Top

marksmen are a failed concept in this game. and hilariously enough, the game is actually centered around them. theyre even more binary than melee adc right now.

i think the only reason they even exist, is because there is this notion that every game has to have these classic ranged characters with bows and rifles. other than that, the concept of ranged sustained damage glass cannons in league just has so many issues its stupid.

there are only 2 states a marksman is in this particular game

a) be batshit broken, because youre dealing the most champion damage, objective damage (baron, drakes), and are one of the best split pushers and siegers in the game. so basically all of the most important roles that win you the game, while youre able to kite and get peeled for yourself which makes you basically untouchable at the same time.

there are champions of different classes who are able to fulfill 1 or maybe 2 of these roles. theyre maybe good carries, or theyre good at sieging, or split pushing. but its really just the combination of all these strength in one champion that makes marksmen so mandatory.

b) get dived and blown up before you have a chance at making yourself relevant.

Yasuo for example is a great carry, but he sucks at sieging. he has no ability that allows him to poke at a turret from a safe distance for example.

Udyr is a great splitpusher, but hes not really great in teamfights

Azir has the same problematic design as marksmen, being too good at all the same things they are. why hes getting nerfed repeatedly.

youll find most champions in the game have one or 2 of these strengths tops. except marksmen, because they have all of them at the same time.

who actually likes ranged adc?

adc mains end up hating it, because theyre always the focus target of the enemy team and dont get to actually do much unless theyre op like lucian right now.

i mean what happened with the marksmen update when adc were actually really fucking strong? people switched to hard dive teamcomps with assassins, and anti ad specialized tanks to take them out even quicker.

their own teams hate having to cater to their adc all the time even when the guy is strong, because except for outliers like lucian, ezreal and vayne (who have exactly the problem that they become easily op due to their self reliance), none of them will be independent enough to live through a fight without peel.

enemy teams hate having to focus their entire attention on this guy, even when hes behind, because even a 0/5 adc is not going to be entirely irrelevant and will deal a shitload of damage when unattended, and push down turrets super fast.

seriously, why keep this class of champions in the game with so much focus on them?

they should just phase them out to the point theyre optional, and not mandatory for every single team.

I usually get Jungle 8 ou of 10 times. Not sure where this graph comes from.
