Malphite currently is a joke, and sadly not a good one.

Malphite has a strange skillset that just doesn't want to come together. The whole champion is one, big ult. He uses too much mana, has poor cc for a tank, and his W is probably the most useless ability in the game. Also, the lack of skill in the gameplay, the poor guy doesnt even have a skillshot! As a top lane main who loves malphite but acknowledges the problems, i recommend to change all of malphs skillset except his ult and E.

Also: Riot stated in patch 4.7 that they want a better, stronger toplane, not an island where two people are suck, and they have to just farm farm farm. (if anyone mentions teleport, i will rip their still beating hearts out.) Make these changes please, and if you will, start with the rock dude.

Malphite is niche, in that he functions incredibly well in certain team comps. Like an Ori ball on Malphite's ult.

Uh.. I disagree. Malph deals a lot of magic damage through Q and E, physical damage through the W. He double dips when buying armour, he has an immense slow and attack speed slow. He is an AD champs worst nightmare. one point you got me on is his mana costs, which are ancient. However, with that Q, he would be oppressive with low mana costs. Its an engage, disengage, and poke. If he could spam it, there would be no survivors.

Malphite is perfect as he stands. He's a beautifully crafted AP tank who can split push like it's going out of style.

There are just better champions instead of malphite. If you want an armor tank, just pick rammus. If you want an initiator, you can pick a variety of other champions that are quite better than him.

I love malph too, but these problems are too noticable.
