Just wondering. I mean, I think Blizzard kind of had it right to veer away from raw stats for runes. There's always going to be a few most efficient paths and then a ton of troll options. Seems kind of like a waste of a system.
What do you guys think? Do you think the rune system has any real impactful depth, or is it more a hindrance?

Of course, if Riot thinks they can get some money out of changing the optimal runes and forcing people to buy new sets or play at a disadvantage, they'll do it immediately.
disregardable1 votesI think it's fun. I just played against an all AP Zilean, all AD Jinx bot lane. It was hilarious how hard they stomped us. We came back late game, but eh.
Kingsgrave1 votesMost of Riot seems to agree that its a hindrance but they are tackling bigger problems currently. I remember Xypherous saying that he doesn't want to half-ass fix runes, if he ever changes them he wants to do it 100% not any less.

Desmond Law1 votesBut if you get a ninja champ, it's stops being a troll page I'd say reduce death timer runes. Now that's a super bad set up. They are completely useless except when you are dead and they are only effective for about 15 seconds each time you die.

Energy runes are still a troll page on energy champions. They're in fact the best example of why runes are stupid. They can't give a real reason to use them or they become required to play the champion effectively.
Direwolfiez1 votesPretty sure that they're useless even if you're an energy champ. Every energy champ has a way to refill some of their energy, so it's not really worth it at all.
