Can we have the option to mute pings please?

I know pings are valuable for communication, but so is chat, and sometimes neither are used in a way that makes me want to allow certain players on my team to communicate with me using those methods.

For example, sometimes as jungler after a gank and kill I will push the wave into the tower. There's a reason I do that, and I really hate it when people spam back pings at me when I do that.

Another example is when my laner has gone back after a gank, and I'm just last hitting the minions that would otherwise die to enemy minion attacks. I'm just last hitting man. I don't need to be spammed 500 times with back pings.

Another example is when people spam question mark pings on you to BM you. Can we please have the option to mute pings?

ping spam consists of 5 pings in short duration then ping locked for awhile its far less than 500, just saying

Yeah, that was definitely an exaggeration, but I had an Ezreal who warning pinged me the entire game, so the total was probably around 100-200 pings. That's still a lot dude. He would wait the 10-15 seconds for the lock out to end and then warning ping me again.

It was an awful experience. Same thing with the jungle situations I talked about in the OP. They'd just wait the lockout period and return to spamming. Granted, they wouldn't ping the entire game. Just until I left their lane.

And I'm not lying about the Ezreal thing. He got upset and I muted him, so to retaliate he just warning spammed me almost the entire damn game. Literally, he would ping, wait until the lockdown ended, and then start up again. It really was terrible.

It's even worse when you have multiple people doing it.

I had a duo that spam pinged missing over me the entire game. One would get on cool down and the other would take it up. On and on and on the entire 30+ minutes. My chat was nothing but missing pings, completely useless for communication and I died more than 1 time because of the stupid ? blocking vision.

I should've dodged in champ select when they decided to steal my lane, but I wanted to report them.

I know you have reasons for pushing the lane, but ultimately, isn't it up to the person in lane that should be the one deciding if they want to push/freeze/trim/proxy?

They're the person in lane... they (in theory) should know what they want to do with the waves based on their matchup.

That being said, I never care if a jungler pushes. Gives me a chance to recall.

Perhaps communication? "Hey Top/bot/mid... When I gank I'd like to push your lane cuz counter-jungle/dragon/herald/deep wards/wave-management, etc.. is that cool with ya'll?"

Well, it depends on the situation. For example, if the lane is going to be pushing into the enemy team anyway, you want to shove the lane as a jungler and reset it instead of having your laners come back to a lane that's going to be pushed close to the enemy tower. If you shove minions into the enemy turret, that keeps your minions from stacking up and denies the enemy much needed xp and gold. So basically, you killed the enemy AND you made them lose a couple waves of cs/xp.

If they want to push it themselves and they're alive, that's fine as well unless we can get a turret off of pushing it. If we can get a turret because bot is dead, you bet I'm going to help my team push that lane and take that turret gold. That, or push the lane and rotate into a dragon.

As for the last hitting there, there is no excuse not to let your jungler last hit your lane if you're gone. The minions are going to die anyway and this keeps xp and gold from falling into the trash.

Also, I try to communicate man, but when your laner is spamming back pings for you just last hitting, there's not much you can do. You tell them that you're just last hitting? They don't listen and keep spamming back pings. It's THOSE people that cause really frustrating games and make me wish I could just mute their pings. That, and ping harassment. We should have the tools to stop those, but we don't, and I don't like that.

My group and I always have this problem and we all complain about it when it occurs, as not all five of us are on at the same time we usually play in groups of 3-4 leaving 1-2 randoms in our game. What we find is that people use a question mark ping, pinging us when we make a bad play. There is no reason to repeatedly ping one of us if we make a mistake, we know when we make mistakes. Using pings to rub it in is rather childish. We've skyped with one of these types of players and it wasn't a good time, although we were in a call he still chose pings rather than asking me why I made that decision and just called me names. Reported him afterwards and hung up the call, but you can't mute pings. There was another time where we were playing with a Cassiopea who was chat blocked ( I learned this after I contacted him afterwards to ask why he used his pings incorrectly ), so it was no surprise to us when he ping harassed us and when he could chat he only called us names.

This incorrect use, "Ping harassment" should be something addressed by Riot in either a new report option or ping blocking, although they are busy there are things they should put more of their attention to.
