It must be like even worse than GD since they hid it from everyone. I don't even know how to get there.

I really don't understand why this is, but it's unlisted. The only way to access it is if either you have the URL or you go to the archive of the roleplaying section from the old forums and find the link there.

According to this poll, that's not necessarily the case. The general consensus on that thread is that the community is too small for the RP forum to really blossom, and the main comments against opening it are exclusively of that opinion because of the potential for trolls.

It's important to separate the factors, because the RP community doesn't seem to want to be private any more. They are scared of trolls, which really shouldn't be their job to deal with in the first place. Why is it they aren't confident in the moderation handling all of that for them?

I specifically have this issue with a chat room I maintain, name not disclosed. I can't advertise the room anywhere because I have zero tools to ensure the community is handled the way we would like. I want the community to grow, but I don't want it to be public because chat rooms are completely inadequate at handling anything the room doesn't want (e.g. spam).

This is basically the same concept, it seems. If players are choosing to hamstring their community because they don't want it to get ruined, that's not on them; it's on the moderation.

Alternatively, they've been up since the transition to boards and I was oblivious. :P

Once, I refreshed the main page, and all the threads shown were from the roleplaying boards. This kind of thing happens every so often, but usually I just get a page with zero discussions.
