Is the popularity system the right way to go for boards reorganizing?

I know it seems kind of selfish, but what if I want to talk about something specific? In my very biased opinion, I kind of think of Reddit style as a "forced discussion" forum. What I mean by that is I feel I don't really have a choice on what to discuss. If I decide to make a topic that isn't something that will receive a lot of up-votes, I feel there will not be much discussion on the topic. Sometimes you don't want to discuss what everyone else is discussing, you know? You have something you specifically want to talk about, and that's what makes chronological order so great.

Yes, chronological order is selfish because it gives you immediate attention to what you specifically want to talk about. At the same time though, it fulfills the popularity sorting needs (not by up votes, but by posts which push it back to the top of the list).

In my opinion, it's the best of both worlds. Everyone gets exposure and popular topics are seen a lot. What do you guys think though? Why do people use the Reddit system?

Riot will never incorporate logic into their design, especially if time is involved. Its only based on masses and money. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Not too sure?! I have not much to qualify any specific thought about this.

I never really supported the popularity visual social queue for acceptance to mean anything more than strength in numbers. The popularity social idea as; if there are more people in favor with an idea or subject discussion comment on Riot League of Legends Boards, then you are Driving Feedback that much better, this simplicity of thought deduction continues to demean and devalue many people and their capacity to articulate who they really are with the Freedom of Speech Rights and abilities.

As maybe evidenced here: I could use the Reddit option, but only if the social crowds accept your Subject Discussion Ideas, or your Subject Discussion replies comments, then could you factually be driving successful feedback or exist as defining any meaningful quality in the Riot League of Legends online Video Game Realm.

Whether with Reddit or not, the social acceptance Qualifier in definitions of popularity continues to exist and define social dominance in alignment with False Communication Process Code of Ethics Foundations and defining depths of Character Attributes Quality Standards!

Thank you for the Reply; The MechE.

Unfortunately, the popularity system is: Bland, compromising, Biased, Beyond Most Un-flavorable Taste, and wearing Communication Process Old, Out-Dated, Boring Wardrobes for Creative Thoughts; which, is a contradiction to their Objective. Allow me to analyze with my Speech Communication Skills encompassing inside of my Bachelors' of Science in Speech Communications with a Minor in Health Education. This is more to establish the validity of my "not all theories based" on Riot League of Legends Professional Actions and Behaviors, as they esteem and pride in affirming.

Presently, as you have mention Riot League of Legends Boards Forum where threads of discussion material aligned within "More Than One-Pool Of Thought(c)" is technologically constructed so only the most popular subjects with the most up votes are concluded at a level of quality worth taking the time to: glance, skim-read, read, comment on, and establish with the popular system the Most Acclaimed Riot League of Legends Marketing Supported Quality Stamp of Approval, as; only the most Socially Prestige, Most Valuable Social Status from "Their Most Popular Boards Discussion Material" is Acknowledged and Socially Accepted. Since, those with the fewer votes Almost Never receive a visit from a Riot employee giving a Stamp to visually show the Boards community the Riot League of Legends Effort in actually trying to visit and monitor all material discussed in the Boards Discussions Community. This popular system supported with a chronological downside where the less visited subject discussions are maybe seen at a much later date when the discussion is far from over Already.

Riot League of Legends Marketing capacity in alignment with their professional Self-Decided Facility Communication Process Style is: Low in Depth, Low in Quality, Low in Weight, Low in Open-Minded without Bias, Far from Team Moral Encouraging including all customers in a professional partnership with Riot League of Legends and Sportsmanlike Game Conduct in Direct Correlation to their "Far from Unique and Creative Marketing Quality" continuing to Misguide and Poorly Educated All their customers with the Quality Riot League of Legends Esteems in their Legal Contract holding us to: proper online video game Etiquette while the Riot League of Legends Professional Marketing All of Riot League of Legends efforts to date owned in today and ongoing.

Riot League of Legends FAILS to: <> Being Creative in the Discussion Boards Coordinating social feedback <> Being Unique in their Marketing; as their favorite most popular up votes system is their "Most Valuable Asset" which is Being the same as everything else everywhere <> Riot League of Legends Coordinates customers character attributes and holds them Accountable and Responsible in Adherence of how their customers Behaviors and Actions are In Accordance with the Summoner's Code. Though, Riot League of Legends presently delivers a social platform to assist fellow Riot League of Legends online video gamers/ or their customers: weak in Quality, Saturated in Social Bullying Toxic Communication founded with Negative Attitudes and Unsportsmanlike in Game Conduct having the Riot League of Legends Boards determine through social popular distinguished decisions where only the most popular subject discussion comment posts are Riot League of Legends branded Quality Social online video Game Boards Experience through social education, and all the Lack of. How? Affirming only the most up votes drives feedback is detrimental to any Acclaimed level or Any Acclaimed Platform in establishing Sportsmanlike Game Conduct Fairness without any Negative Attitude aligned and drenched in social contamination. <> Appears Riot League of Legends only values Compromising the Integrity of Intelligence of their customers operating their marketing Agility Lacking Creativity with the popular system where the most up votes continues to be acknowledged sooner and with more attentive attention from Riot League of Legends. <> Operate outside of Biased Social Quality Selection without inclusive reading and listening to ALL of their customer Skills <> Professional Acceptance of their own self-decided marketing mistakes, where quite possible this feedback reply could count against any of my positive track record within my alignment of the customer partnership I coordinate communication process feedback

There is only so much I could illustrate inside of this subject discussion comment post. Clearly, Riot would rather try to gain all of the information of feedback of how to better themselves from the Subject Discussion Boards rather than hire those people they have witnessed in the boards owning skills which could only enhance their Riot League of Legends Brand Name. Obviously, Riot League of Legends will glance at this subject discussion thread months far beyond and well into the Holiday Seasonal Seasons Greetings time frame, based on their popular system. Talk about Out-of-Date should know now communication process social behaviors and popular marketing: wardrobes, strategies, phases of behaviors, styles, tastes, EnvironMental Healthcare Codes of Conduct, and along with much more, etc.

" If I decide to make a topic that isn't something that will receive a lot of up-votes, I feel there will not be much discussion on the topic." I agree.

For something to stay visible to people, it has to immediately become incredibly popular after being posted.

If I make a post, and a dozen people wonder into it; half of them post in the thread, and I start conversing with four of five of those people: that thread is dead. Even though we're discussing back and forth, and making dozens of comments over several hours, no one new will ever see this thread anywhere, and new people will never have the chance to join in on the conversation to grow it into a big discussion. Eventually, people go to bed, and that's it: the thread's gone. A post has to immediately attain popularity, to be popular.

A thread can never become popular, it can only be popular. If it isn't very popular very soon after creation, then it essentially does not exist.
