Homogenized Resource System is Better

**Short: By homogenized resource system I mean that ALL champions use the SAME resource (e.g. energy). This system reduces confusion and makes the game easier to balance. **

I have spent 300 hours+ playing diablo2/3. In Diablo 3, each hero class was given an unique resource system. At first I thought it was cool but as I played more, I felt that it was really taxing. The 'complexity tax'. Long story short, it didn't really add much to the game play.

The same can be said about league. Energy resources are cool because we can go back to base less, but the multiple resources itself really adds nothing to the gameplay but confusion. I once saw a friend playing against a Yasho, and he was asking me "how is he casting spells with no energy!". The mana/energy bar is there to give information. Yasho's shield can be displayed like Maphite's shield, but there is no place to see when/if he can cast his next q. The fact that he can cast unlimited q without basing, is adding insult to the injury.

It is time for League to homogenize the resource system. Whether it is a new *progressive energy recovery *(see below) system, or back to the mana system (dota root), the change to unify resource system will make the game better.

***Progressive Energy System *** -increased recovery when not attacking -further increase of recovery when out of combat -max increase when standing still and out of combat

This system reduces confusion and makes the game easier to balance.

Nice thought on paper, until you realize how many champs are balanced around either mana gating or cdr gating. This change would require every champion not already energy based to take heavy reworks/nerfs/buffs in order to balance out. In the end, it would stagnate the game as everything would HAVE to be balanced around a much smaller plateau than before and being op/up would be a much bigger problem than it currently is.
