Too dark for me

I know a lot of people like the darker theme, but having an option to choose a lighter theme would be nice.

Greatly prefer the light, silver background color scheme currently found on community.pbe.leagueoflegends.com . Also, why shift the floating 'rioter comments' to the left? I would think that the thread body should be the main element that is left justified and not the navigation boxes.

Hey all!

Great feedback in this thread. Thanks for taking the time to tell us what you think. I'll pass it on to the team, but please do me a favor and vote on the content that you like the best, so that we can better gauge what the majority is thinking.

I really feel like this new theme is overall a lot softer on my eyes, but options would certainly be nice

My eyes need to get used to this, but its kind of nice

I think it would be nice to have options, even tho I like the new one better

A Theme Switcher would be nice, Just like reddit has on their sidebar.

I feel like giving people the option between this current one and the one seen on the PBE site would be great. Both are great looking and most importantly, eye-friendly.

I'd prefer a middleground though in general I find these forums to come off as 'old' and not very aesthetically pleasing. Lot's of 1 tone colours and blockiness.

I like this way better. White websites stress my eyes if I look at it too long. That's why I have dark userstyles for almost every site I go to.

If it was an option that's fine, but I want this dark theme to stay in one form or another. I'd also like it if it was applied to the standard forums as well.

I love the dark theme. It's also what I use on reddit.

I'm fine with them adding an option for a light theme as long as they don't take away the dark one.

I like this, much better for my eyes. Velkoz

Jordian7/12/2014, 2:39:46 AM2 votes

I find the white background similar to the one of reddit much easier on the eyes. This one is 3 spooky 5 me.

Vacus7/13/2014, 7:27:37 PM2 votes

The darker theme is significantly more difficult for me to read.

That said, I see absolutely no reason why there should be only one theme. If this new forum software doesn't support user-selected themes, that is fairly silly given that vB does.

I like how it is, honestly, for me they should keep this colour etc.. I seriously love it... Other people may not like but.. I'm the one who like it :)

I wonder if it'd be within reason that we could choose our own color scheme (Text color, background color, etc.) besides just light or dark schemes.

And personally, I think I like the darker scheme: Being a night owl and up at night browsing the internet frequently, the darker scheme wouldn't be as much of a contrast in light to my house at night.

Then again, I could also be a bit biased because there's a dark teal/bluish green color in this scheme, and I like that color.

EDIT: Is it just me, or is there a lot of space to the right of the text in our posts? Hmm... maybe just something for larger community monitors to make it easier to read or something.

im not sure what is with Riot and wanting to be emo lately, but with the updates they have plan they need to brighten things up, the background being dark is nice as it is background and doesnt matter plus darkness doesnt draw attention off the focal point, but the central main content needs to be black text on white background (or close to white)

same thing with the SR update, i like it and all, but they need to make things more bright and vivid kind of like the very background in the top left corner of the SR update (but the baron area could be more dark and gloomy as baron is suppose to rain death and destruction on the land)

This is great. Idk what your deal is. haha.

Agreed. I know there is a need for dark themes, but making a lighter theme as an option would be very lovely. I use to love dark themes too, but as I have gotten older, I have grown to prefer "readable" over "cool".

Looks good, just not really in my preference. :(

PsychoticDreams7/12/2014, 4:22:40 AM1 votes

I prefer the dark personally, Makes it easier for my eyes, then again that's personal preference, maybe they'll give options?

minions kill oO7/12/2014, 4:52:25 AM1 votes

i think maybe some change in the font's color or maybe tuning the the "darkness" down (a bit more bright) but overall better than the old one (looks wise)... it's easy on the eyes unlike the BRIGHT WHITE background but it's a tiny bit harder to read (not sure why i feel so)

also for some reason i feel it's clustered not sure why ?!

maybe just larger font (in all) will make it just perfect ?? maybe ??!!

Daen7/12/2014, 1:24:58 AM1 votes

Being able to choose would be kinda nice, yeah. I personally enjoy both themes, not sure which I prefer.

BeardRex7/12/2014, 6:01:28 AM1 votes

Yeah this is definitely hard on the eyes for me.

xAltairis7/12/2014, 7:34:18 AM1 votes

I don't know what to say about this... The layout just seems very outdated. Like, it reminds me of old simple internet forums. I think what we have now is completely fine and it's pretty new as well.

Hyrum Graff7/12/2014, 3:38:49 PM1 votes

I'd like the text to contrast just a little bit more with the background. Whether that's done by changing the color scheme, darkening the background, or brightening the text, I don't really care. Others agree or have a preference as to which way it's done?

BLU Medic7/12/2014, 3:49:51 PM1 votes

I agree, I feel the gold on blue, already on top of a blue background, a bit too much. And the reply text is tiny.

Shhhh...!

adminpwnsu7/13/2014, 11:06:06 AM1 votes

The old Theme was looking a lot better. Especially the contrast of that cyan background with the brown font-color makes it really difficult to read....
