is it wrong to ks if...

your playing an assassin. i seem get a lot of hate for taking kills. and yknow what, sometimes its things like dot (ignite, talon q, etc) and its not really intentional. but yknow what... i need those kills way more than you do. if i fall behind, which is so likely considering assassins need to snowball in lane, and keep going as much as they can. cause late game, your fallen off. its inevitable. unless your an ap assassin on all ad team or an ad assassin on all ap team, ur damage will be neutralized at one point. come late game, your gonna be uselss and prolly only able to clean up or split push.

but i must say, i find it really funny. when you have assassins like Talon who can kill someone in less than 2 seconds if their doing well... nab a few ks's thru bleed or rake or even ult ppl will flip the fk out.

but if you play Katarina , who is basically just a cleanup crew (q teamfight in progress, E, W, R penta) then their celebrated as a god.

not only that, but people dont seem to get. assists matter. and im sorry, if top lane is going 1/7 and their getting mad cause i took a kill. hey yknow what, its really not gonna help u much, and i really dont want you to be worth more gold. just go farm.

Absolutely not man, their is more than 1 carry on the team, generally ADC (bot lane with sup) and mid lane are the 2 carries GENERALLY ofc their are carry top laners and junglers too, but in terms of assassins, they're usually mid lane and you are right, they need to snowball. If you are roaming and getting the kill, even more reason to "KS" because you are sacrificing XP and CS to do it.

KS is never wrong. As long as you dont use a flash or a ignite or an ult for it.

its good to hear that from (presumably) more experienced players, knowing im not being a complete douche cause im in more need of it.

no one ever claps for a feed or famine champ who didnt get fed.

is it wrong to ks if your playing an assassin.

It's pretty silly to QQ about any kill-based roll getting kills IMO, especially if there main tactic is waiting for a target to drop to 50% and get distracted, then burst them down.

Also - intentionally going for the last-hit on enemy champions is usually more beneficial to your team than backing off. First, securing the kill insures your team gets gold and assist bounty, where not doing so can cause you to loose out. Also: if an enemy is killed 1v1 without giving any assists, then your team only gets 2/3rd of the available gold. Assist pots are worth 50% of the kill bounty and get thrown away if no assists are given.

I'd say you're much safer securing kills and dealing with the occasional Q_Q about KSing over holding back.

The Best Assassins, don't rely on Assassinations to be an effective team member.

Zed for example, can go from snowballing off kills in the early/mid game, and turn into a massive split push threat, that your cannot 1v1.

Le Blanc, still has wave clear with her Distortion. (even if it cost a Arms worth of mana)

I mean, maybe it's just me. But if I'm playing a top laner like Shyvana or something, I'll get a little miffed if you come into my lane and use one ability to take it.

It sort of kind of depends. I mean, if you walk bot lane after they have 100% secured a double kill and they have 2 opponents at 50 HP, and you just walk up and use one ability and walk away to get a double, that's pretty bad. It takes away a significant amount of gold your ADC/support would have gotten. Instead of 400 gold for your adc and 100 for your support, you got 400 and your ADC/Support both got 50.

Something like this... no one likes the feeling of their kill stolen. However, you learn that it really doesn't matter over all. Team gold is team gold.

Instead of saying when I would, here's when I wouldn't take kills:

  • When you're ahead but your carry isn't.
  • When you have to blow a summoner spell to secure it
  • When you're a support, and your carry is doing well
  • When your ally is really close a power spike (if they say something like "1 kill to [insert item])

Otherwise, it's all relative, really. If you're Talon and gank top, and one of your DOTs steals a kill... so what? That's what the mechanic does. You probably do need the kill more than your toplaner. If you don't need it, try to give it up. But if you end up taking it, meh. Team gold. Like you said, assists matter.

Also, "KS" stands for "kill secured" :p

not if u dont hve to n simply didnt put in the damage... if ur just ksing cause u arent earning ur kills... then maybe u dont deserve the kills regardless of ur role.

What if you steal the kill from someone who also needs it?If I play Adc and you play an assassin and you steal my kill, then that hurts me a lot too.

Generally though I have no problem with my teammates getting the kill(probably because I play a lot of Swain and he has a lot of DoT,so I don't have that much control over who gets the kill),unless it is really blatant, like someone using flash or the ult just to get the kill, that feels more like you are trying to deny me a kill than trying to get it.

Anyone who cares about kills is not in the right mindset. Its either secure or not. Yes, it would be cool to get kills on the carries, but assists count too and puts more pressure on the map rather than when people "gift" kills and the enemy escapes.
