r/leagueoflegends - You can get Demoted by losing in an off role, but you can't be promoted?

I saw this reddit post and dont know if this has been posted here yet (if it has go ahead and remove my post mods). I just found this interesting because I personally thought the new ranked system was to show how good you are at each role. Make your off role be iron division. Queue for ranked in plat division, go off role, win promos, profit.

Of course you can get demoted... Do people really expect Riot to hold their hands by keeping their ranked complacent when they clearly don't belong in that ranked tier?
