I feel like almost every game I play I get way lower rank players. Granted im not that high of a rank currently but why im I getting slivers and the enemy team is plats? Its getting real old real quick. It seems my bot and mid feeds almost every game for me. They have a combined score of 3/17. I cant carry or come even close to making the game winnable again unless the enemy team runs it down.
Ive literally filed tickets about this same problem and Riot support told me "its supposed to be that way"[zombie-brand-clap]
Its cause the promos system skews ranks a lot. Like I was placed Gold 3 after my first game, and I gained 75lp on my first win. I went 3-5 in promos and ended Gold 2. If I went, lets say, 6-2 in promos, I would've ended Plat 4.
So someone who is Gold 1 can place Silver 1 after promos start, and if they go 0-8 they will still be in Silver 1, but have a ridiculously high MMR.
Also, I think the system tries to rubberband you to your main rank. Those silver players were Plat/High gold on other roles, if you look at their profiles.
Oh the 4 vs 1 games. I feel you.
I main Jayce ADC and Jayce Top. When I play Jayce ADC, its jg/top dying too much making it hard to carry. When I top its bot lane and jg dying too much. I hate it too.

Your game also had a bad case of Mage bot lane but no idea how to make it work.
I stopped playing rank for this reason.
Way too frustrating doing consistently well in most of the games only to lose cause the bot lane managed to die 10 times pre 10 minutes as Ezreal and some other safe support. Or somehow lose lane to vayne + enchanter when they are playing Draven + Thresh.
It's ridiculous.
Can't even bite the bullet and play support to make sure my team has the better bot lane cause positional ranking is a thing and i wanted to main mid this season zzz.

On the surface, you're never supposed to actually know the opponents ranks. In an enclosed bubble where on your computer you have nothing else open besides League, in this scenario, you wouldn't be complaining about ranks.
All your team mates were gold/plat last season.
Some players are lower/higher ranked then their MMR.
