adc positioning question! (Poll!)

My friend and I were going duo bot and I was draven, and he was thresh, neither of us were super experienced with either champ, he was getting frustrated with me because I refused to make a questionable play and I am just curious what others think because to me it goes against all my adc instincts.THE PLAY I don't really recall their full team, but full ad vi was rushing me, he was diving their back lines and throwing me a lantern and trying to get me to grab it, ideally putting me in their back line during team fights to ideally let me fight it out with their adc, to me this fights against everything o know about positioning, but I'm just curious how others feel about it, I could see how it could have gone either way with us either pancaking the enemy or them dismantling us once we got their, low Elo btw silver/bronze thanks in advance

EDIT---looked up team comps mine was aatrox, rammus, thresh, me (draven) and oriana Vs Fiora, Thalia, jhin, Janna, vi

Thats the dumbest idea i've ever heard in my life. I would delete that friend instantly and/or never let them support.

I dont care what elo you're in, you're an ADC you do NOT BELONG in the enemy back line.

As an ADC you hit the closest thing to you without putting yourself in danger. Of course unless the whole enemy team was 1 hp and you had flash + heal then yeah it wouldve been a ''questionable'' idea because they still have ccs and skills but other than that... No

Closest high value target imo - and obviously if someone is low switch to them without diving behind enemy lines

That depends whether the rest of your team was there or not, and how low hp the backline was.

If it's just you two against Vi and the ADC, going to the back does nothing. Vi can still get to you and kill you.

Generally speaking, it's not the best play. He should be peeling for you.

No the rest of the team was there these were generally 5v5 or 4v4 situations,

Failure is the first step to learning. Idealy you would take things to a normal game but if you are trying a new champ go all out to see how far you can push them. Did you lose? What happened that caused you to fail and keep an eye out for a way to improve. At worst, your team will get angry and you will know how to play the champion at their weakest. If this is how you can learn to play it will help you turn games around rather than be angry with your team for not carrying you just to surrender before the game starts getting good.

Honestly it's all situational. If the rest of your team was there too, you could have done it and killed their adc and run before getting liked while the rest of your team moves in too. But in most situations their adc would kill you, or their mid would or you'd be hit by a bunch of crowd control and you'd get deleted while not being able to do anything. Also depends on how much damage you could do. If you could 2 hit their adc, I would say go for it. They wouldn't expect it and see it coming. But if it took you 4 spinning axes, you'd be dead before you could do it
