Thoughts on Jhin

Before starting: If you have to cry about how boring or non original he is, this is not the thread for you.

I'm wondering which playstyles could fit Jhin. I am very interested about his E and W synergy. His E will be somewhat like Teemo shrooms, once someone steps on them, they're marked and you can follow up with a W long-range snipe to root them and hopefully make them take the trap damage. This would require some roaming or good communication to set up with your team. Thus I believe he could be a good mid laner.

His attack speed is static, it doesn't increase (probably with level, but not with items), this is basically what his passive does:

  • Attack Speed & Crit Chance >>>> Damage
  • Crit shots >>>> Movespeed (Scaling with attack speed)
  • Crits deal less damage

So basically this tells us that mid-late he will hit pretty hard, but he doesn't have any dash or self peel, all the mobility he has is the boost on crits and when he roots someone with W.

I believe he needs to build 100% crit in order to be constantly on the move, I would probably rush item 3094 . A longshot followed by a W snipe would be a good engage tool.

About teamfights, I see him staying back, throwing his E,looking for a W-snipe and then get close to finish off the target. Alternatively he could engage with his ult, slowing enemies and giving his team a chance to engage.

He seems to be pretty hard to play when you are behind and even if you're ahead, anything with little cc could stomp him.

Definitely item 3031 item 3508 I edge will get his crit damage back up, and Essence will give him the crit, cooldowns, mana for his abilities (he seems really AD Caster to me)

item 3085 gives him atk speed crit for the passive, and would extend the usefulness of the 4 shots he has per reload

item 3094 Would help his basic range (called very average) match up to his huge ability range, and when your saving his basics, the extra damage WILL be noticed. (Does the passive crit like static? I can't remember)

item 3046 For the movement speed buff, and all the stats fit him great.

item 3006 atk sped = crit, crit = mvmnt and damage so you get a bunch of extra stats from them

My thoughts, I understand this would put you over the 100% crit, but if he's coded the way i hope he's coded, then the crit chance to damage conversion will work even after the crit chance goes over 100% you cant crit more, but your damage would keep going up ;) Thats my hope anyway...

Thats my thoughts, course I'd have to wait and see what he's like when he comes out to see if it all works out as well as I'd like

TBH he will be very hard to play but on the other hand if you traps the brushes someone steps on it w him. then you can move in to land your 4th attack.

I think he's pretty much replace Cait. He fills her niche better.
