Ashe's Q doesn't actually proc on-attack effects 5 times.

Ashe's Q says each flurry procs on-attack effects 5 times and on-hit effects once. On-attack effects are those like Guinsoo's stacking passive, Shiv's stacking passive, Runaan's passive, Sated Devourer's phantom hit.

Ashe, in theory, should be able to stack Guinsoo's with 5 attacks (4 + one Q flurry). That doesn't happen. Shiv should gain stacks five times per Q attack, it doesn't happen. Sated devourer should proc every Q attack, doesn't happen. The only interaction that does work is the one with Runaan's.

I'm not saying she should be able to do all of these, but saying that her Q procs on-attack effects is just false.

PS: seems like the Wikia page for Ashe was edited and the part saying she procced multiple on-attack effects got deleted.

It's not on-hit or on-attack, it's simply 5 instances of physical damage. However, this means she instantly stacks Black Cleaver.

It was on-attack but got deleted

Thank god it doesnt. That would be a nightmare. Full build with a single item.

From the wiki

The multi-attack effect is similar to Lightslinger.png Lightslinger and Double Strike.png Double Strike, except that on-hit effects aren't applied by the extra attacks. Triggering Runaan's Hurricane item.png Runaan's Hurricane five times is intentional behavior. [3] On-hit effects are disabled on the latter four attacks and will not be triggered even by Runaan's Hurricane item.png Runaan's Hurricane's bolts. Each flurry only applies on-hit damage from Runaan's Hurricane item.png Runaan's Hurricane's bolts once. Runaan's splash damage is affected by the damage modifier - dealing 「 15 (+5.75 / 6 / 6.25 / 6.5 / 6.75% AD) damage per arrow 」 to each secondary target.

The wiki was edited earlier today, it literally stated "procs on-attack effects five times".

its not on hit which is what I think you are confusing it with. It'd be pretty broken if it procced on hit 5 times in one attack (Worse than kogmaw >_< )

I'm not talking about on-hit. I'm talking about on-attack.

The effects I listed proc wheter you hit someone or not. They're not on-hit.

Go check the on-attack effects here: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/On-attack_effects#On-Attack_Effects.2FAuto-attack_Modifiers

on attack doesn't mean on hit. but on hit doesn't mean on attack. basically guinsoo stacking is on attack and something like botrk passive is on hit.. I don't know what or why but its the way it is lol

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

It's because of the way the attacks are broken up: the first attack has more damage and applies the one hit effects, whereas the other smaller flurry ones have less damage, and don't proc those effects

JQKAndrei10 votes

Yeah, but why even write that they apply on-attack effects five times?

The Governer1 votes

Because it applies to Runaan's Hurricane and Lulu's Pix.

Runaan's Hurricane's bolts are on-attack effects that apply on-hit effects. One flurry of Ashe's Q attack a target 5 times with 5 arrows, applying Runaan's Hurricane bolts to secondary targets 5 times, dealing 75% reduced damage + 15 on-hit damage per arrow, up to 75 + 75% reduced damage per flurry.

Pix is supposed to attack the target 5 times per flurry but due to the limitation of its attack speed it can only attack the target twice per flurry.

I am not sure about the interactions between Ashe and the items you listed so I can't comment on these issues. I will come back to you after I am done testing.

JQKAndrei6 votes

I already tested all of them, they don't have any special interaction.

The Governer1 votes

Please pan out the numbers and calculations (screenshots are more welcomed, but numbers are fine) to prove that Runaan's Hurricane's bolts do not have any special interactions with Ashe's Q.

JQKAndrei5 votes

The only interaction that does work is the one with Runaan's.

I wrote this in the main post, that's the only item that works. The others act just like if it would be a normal attack.

Runaan's bolts math is written in the Wikia:

Runaan's splash damage is affected by the damage modifier - dealing 「 15 (+5.75 / 6 / 6.25 / 6.5 / 6.75% AD) damage per arrow 」 to each secondary target.

taking as an example the last one 6.75% Ad scaling on each arrow is exactly 25% of Ashe's actual modifier for her main Q flurry 27%.

The Governer2 votes

I mean, show me the actual damage you got from your testing and the maths involved and compare and see if the numbers are correct, but I guess that's asking a lot because it requires extensive testing and a lot of maths.

Anyways, I haven't done thorough testing on Runaan's Hurricane and Devourer but I can confirm you are right on Guinsoo's Gunblade and Pix.

I tried jumping in a custom game but it's really hard to say how much damage I'm doing, there are a lot of numbers popping up between the 5 arrow flurry, the passive crit, the on-hit damage and fervor of battle.

I think I'll have to record it and watch it in slow motion to understand how it works, I'll probably do it later today or tomorrow.

The Governer2 votes

Fervor of Battle's bonus damage does not apply to minions or monsters so you don't need to worry about that.

Also her critical strikes do no extra damage. It's her passive that does extra damage. Do note however, that the extra damage from her passive is calculated individually for each arrow of flurry (I tested that thoroughly). If the target isn't Frosted (slowed) prior to the first arrow of flurry, the first arrow only deals 100% of damage and the other 4 arrows deal bonus damage.

It also seems like the on-hit damage from Runaan's Hurricane's bolt is only applied once per flurry, as I didn't see more than 75 damage per flurry (in fact it's much less than 75) when using Q and Runaan's Hurricane's bolts on a minion with 0 armor the last time I did my testing. I didn't use any runes or masteries that could interfere with the damage imposed on minions.

Except that the runaan bolts are reduced in damage over the five hits, meaning it hardly even counts...

Steven Mcburn2 votes

You should read runaan's, it has a base damage then adds a % of your attack damage. So you get 5x base + % of your attack, which is kind of significant.

It's like saying free damage is worthless. Sure, it's not a lot of damage, but it's free and it's definitely not worthless.

Actually, most of the things he listed (Guinsoo's stacking and Sated Devourer procs, in particular) is on-attack, meaning you only gain a stack once per auto attack, regardless of any other special conditions (Yi's double strike and Sated Devourer coming to mind in particular).

Dan Abnormal1 votes

no yi double strike works like lucian passive, meaning its actually 2 auto attacks

The Governer1 votes

Master Yi's Double Strike consists of 2 auto attacks, applying on-attack effects twice.
