Solo Laning Is Reportable(?)

Alright, so. I'm a solo laner, I'll open the post up with this. No matter what role I go, I prefer to be solo, so I get full experience, I don't have the option to blame anybody but myself, even in bot lane I prefer to go solo lane because it keeps me from getting toxic towards my team. I expressed, in champion select, that I was a solo laner, and after top mid and jungle were called, I asked the support to go to another lane so that I could play bot alone. It was ignored.

So we get in game, and I ask Thresh to go to another lane. I then get called a pussy by Zed (I think, I forget, maybe it was Yasuo), and Thresh comes bot. He then walks in to them level 2 and dies, so I repeat, "Thresh, go to another lane." The response was "Ty I troll now". So he walks in to them and dies again. From there I ask the enemy team to report him, and we start having a conversation. Then Thresh goes afk at the t1 tower, just standing there. They try to kill me, I make a clutch escape, I survive with little health. I gotta go back. Thresh stays there as they kill the tower, then as they kill him again. Now Vayne asks if she should report him for afk, I say yes. From there he starts trying to take my farm (He forgets he has Targon's at the time, so he winds up sharing whatever cs I miss), and then he goes back and buys a pickaxe and a longsword to make farming easier. All the while, he's asking my team to report me because he doesn't want to play with me.

I start trying to help my team, I neglected to realize they had an AP Kog'maw so I wound up jumping on top of him to detonate my charge, and he vomits in my face and immediately kills me. My team lol's, I lol and say I didn't look at his items, and from there I die 2 more times (Once to a Rengar and another to Leona/Vayne). Leona and Vayne were pretty chill with how aggressive they were, since Thresh was trolling. On my 3rd death, Thresh remarks "nj" in all chat, and I say "thanks, ad afk thresh", and that's when he sells his damage items and buys support again, you can go check my match history Right here and check his build path to see proof.

What happens at the end of the game? I get reported by Yasuo for verbal abuse. I'm not sure over what. I sent in a report on Thresh, but I really don't think it's going to do anything. From an automated point of view, Thresh did nothing wrong. He didn't feed based on his score, he was underleveled sure but that could be from roaming too much, he spoke very little and saying "ty im trolling now" probably won't trigger any words because saying the word "troll" or "trolling" isn't grounds for punishment.

I guess what I'm trying to say here, is we need the tribunal, we need actual players or even Riot themselves to review cases and punish players like this. I'd also appreciate it if a Red came and posted the chat logs, or reviewed them. This game was terrible, and on top of it, it was supposed to be my last game of the night (I'm an insomniac, shhhhhh, pay no attention to the post time).

And this is also to spark discussion. Have any of you had games like this?

A bit offtopic but I never report enemies for verbal abuse unless they did it in /all chat because I don't know what you guys say in your ally chat.

If YOU condemn your TEAM to lose because of YOUR personal preference to solo a lane that is going to be 1v2, you're being toxic. If you want to play the game in a way that's sub-par and fucks up your entire team, do it with friends or in a bot game. I would've reported you too. Your attitude is selfish and has no place in a team game.

Selfish because I want to be able to play to the best of my ability, and avoid getting angry at my team if my lane winds up losing? That's my own fault, if that happens, but I'll outlevel and guaranteed outfarm them under turret, setting up a support jungler roam double-gank that can get double kills, while also getting other lanes fed.

The fact of the matter is, that whether or not I am in the wrong for being put bottom lane and still requesting to go it solo, the Thresh was at fault for forcing a loss. There is always the possibility that we could have won, but we won't know that now. And that you're defending the actions of someone who wound up sitting afk and making it a 4v5, giving me my solo lane while also refusing to roam and help the team I think shows little real thought put into the situation.

Supports take a shit ton of abuse. The absolute last thing I need is to feel homeless before the game even starts... Look if you troll pick and play an assassin bot lane, sure I'll be pissed but I'll still try to work with you. If you didn't even give the support a chance to assist you and get YOU fed before trying to kick him out then sorry sir but screw you. I play my game to get my team mate fed and me some gold to help my team. We don't take your precious cs, we do our best to make plays and peel for you. The least you can do is give us a chance.

You keep saying other people should have dodged, um no, you want the solo lane that bad, YOU dodge...

I've carried games from 1v2 lanes. Don't be a pessimist bae.

Only one report per game counts. There's no point in asking the enemy team to report anyone. It's just trying to manipulate your teammates into behaving a different way via threat. If I saw your tribunal case, I'd say you're guilty too.

I wasn't aware of that, that's useful information. Thanks!

also are you stalking me

Not anymore so than I stalk anyone else on the boards.

Only in G&B would someone complain@someone offering valuable information/constructive advice. Gnar

I said thank you... . It wasn't sarcastic, I actually wasn't aware of that.

If you want to solo bot go find 4 friends to play with and run your own crazy meta, and good luck to you.

For you to want to solo bot in a matchmade game is trolling, and there is no way you would win the lane as an adc vs a competent enemy adc and support.

I play better in a solo lane, and I've explained why. I can get pretty toxic, I'm not proud of it, and so I do my best to try and avoid all things that'll make me toxic. Playing with friends is a hit or miss, I'll either have my expectations of them raised, or get demotivated and driven out of duo/team queue. Regardless, I verbalized I wanted to go in a solo lane, people took the other roles, I got sent bot lane, and after asking Thresh to support another lane he started trolling. As Jinx below pointed out, I wound up instigating him after he started feeding (Walked in to them and stood there after saying he was gonna troll, was no mistake) by asking them to report him, so that was my bad, but I feel I'd have done fine. We won't find out now, though, because of this. A request to solo bot isn't exactly trolling, I don't think.

You don't just tell the support to go to another lane, that makes no sense. It's going to fuck up the other laner who is going to be underleveled compared to their enemy counterpart with minimal benefit to the team. You really only have to deal with the support until one of the bot turrets is down then they can go mid/roam etc.

I personally am a support main and if the adc told me to gtfo the lane at the start of the game that's an auto-report. Maybe find a different game if 40% of the roles are unpalatable to you to the point where you will gamethrow rather than deal with having another player in the same lane as you.

Håppy1 votes

Yet it isn't a guaranteed gamethrow. That's shallow thinking, and while you could counterpoint that I'm shallow by demanding my support roam and help the other lanes, it's also preventing me from getting randomly pissed at them for taking too many kills or baiting me or this or that and the other thing. I play well, I've been a solo laner since season 4 and it works well for me. People need to have more faith in others, even in solo queue.

I'll also raise the argument that 40% is a minority, and it isn't hard to either allow someone to play to their best and roam to help get other lanes fed. The fact you deem that an auto-report, and appear to be defending the trolling thresh, is rather disappointing. I'm sorry you feel this way.

Really though what makes you think mid or top want the support in their lane pre-10 minute mark for anything other than a gank? How exactly is a support supposed to assist an apc to the point that it will make up for all the experience they will lose?

Honestly I would love to face a solo adc, I really don't see any way they would win lane, irrespective for their experience advantage.

The fact that you don't want a support in your lane in part is due to them "taking too many kills" is also disappointing. Maybe you'd be happier playing 3v3 rift in custom games since I don't see you having much of an appreciation of teamwork as it exists in the current meta.

Håppy1 votes

Then don't leave lane. Simple as that. I ask twice, and after that, it's clear you won't change your mind. So we play. The solution is not to troll, and the solution is not to auto-report for politely asking to be granted a solo-lane. And if it bothers you that much? Skip the lobby when you see that someone prefers to solo-lane and gets shoved bot lane.

No, the "taking too many kills" was an example of a possibility that could get my upset at my support. As I've stated, I don't enjoy relying on others. I don't ask for ganks, I don't duo lane, I play solo because early game it's easy to underestimate certain champions even when alone (All the Udyrs say ayyy), and late game it's easy to ignore them while they sneak a tower.

And finally.. 3v3s rely more on teamwork than 5v5s, actually. Because the map is smaller, and there are less champions to pay attention to, the towers are weaker and such, if you're not working as a team you lose. All it takes is one person to get picked off for one team to snowball objectives.
