Yes, because a fed Zed has far more counterplay than a fed Talon

I'd say their assassination power is about the same, but here is the difference:

If Talon goes all out on me and kills me, my team can then kill him because he has no escape. He has to wait for a good opportunity where he can kill me AND live.

Zed can just ult back after he is done and go back to safety even with bad positioning and even if he fails his assassination.

It depends. Talon has different ways to get to a target (Ult+ Ghost Blade + Blink or just Ghost Blade + Blink) and a killer slow after he gets there, but on the flip side I feel like I've got more opportunities to fight against a Talon.

I usually play against both as Xerath, so I've got a few chances to slow/stun/damage a Talon coming in, while Zed generally feels more slippery.

I think the big thing is right now I'm just tired of fighting against Zed. I'm tired of his laugh when he Ults, I'm tired of his shurikens, I'm tired of having to rush Hourglass, I'm tired of his shadows... just let me play against any other assassin if you've got to pick an assassin. Kat, Akali, LeBlanc, Talon, Diana, Ekko, whoever, just don't make me lane against another Zed.

Talon deals less dmg, but has more AOE. You probably die, because he uses his ult to go invis and pops you. This doesn't work well in teamfights, where you generally want to use double R for maximum AOE dmg.

Yeah but with talon there is little to no counterplay as a squishy. You just hope someone takes care of him before. Ex if he comes to roam bot after something happened. Not much counterplay. With zed alistar can knock him back

Talon deals more AOE, not single target, but Zed needs to land his abilities. It's funny how Zed often walks with almost double damage, because of dragons+potions. Riven also has 20 % bonus AD for free, but only during her ult.

Zed has more base AD, better scaling and 20 % bonus AD? You can check on the wiki, if you don't believe.

Talon can't do much vs tanks, while Zed can assasinate anyone.
