About juggernauts...

So aren't you done yet with this champions class? I feel they're really-really niche or even almost useless in current meta. item 3071 is so expensive. item 3053 will be nerfed 6.4. item 3748 benefits only Fiora MasterYi . item 3742 looks like garbage after 6.3. This is so awkward when your laning phase mostly depends of both junglers (Unlike Gangplank Malphite that able to bring so much utility for team by farming/playing safe). Midgame also feels clunky cause core items are too expensive (BC once again) so usualy you get owned by current adcs or meta junglers like Elise Nidalee . Seriously I feel so mad when I go top Darius or Garen and enemy team pick Graves . Seriously I play as melee guy and I should kite and avoid "marksman" in lane and even later game. What is going on? It forces me to take summoner 3 and waste my summoner 12 slot. I don't tell that "juggernaut" champs are useless. Nope. But they require special teamcomps to perform at least decent. This isn't right. Fiora Malphite Gangplank are monsters in LCS and even in soloqueue. Please take a look again. I think patch 5.16 didn't change anything. But community started to hate my favorite champions even more after this experience. P.S Actually tanks are really strong current meta. Amumu Rammus Malphite Nautilus. The only truly dead guy is Sion and probably Maokai . But second one deserved it (2 years LCS godtier pick along with Rumble ) P.P.S. I'm DII so don't blame for for "bronze analitics".

Lets say that first of all Graves should get a huge nerf because being in the top of 3/4 roles out of 5 is the real definition of Overpowered.

Once Riot decides that his time has passed we might get some freedom as melee characters.

I don't know if grouping certain champions as juggernauts is even useful. The "juggernaut" champions have very little in common in terms of itemization.

Skarner's build is nothing like Darius' build or Mordekaiser's build. Garen and Darius are a bit similar, but they've always been. As for other champions that play similarly, like Volibear or Renekton, they also build very differently. The only similarities you might see are late game standard tank items, like Spirit Visage or Sunfire Cape.

To me, classifying "juggernauts" together when they are impossible to balance as a group (thanks to their different builds) seems useless to me.

they have certain qualifications that groups them together.

  • item builds focused on health stacking (% health scalings and item independent damage in their kits)
  • low base mobility (no dashes, blinks jumps etc. like more mobile bruisers Jax Vi MonkeyKing)
  • high damage only in melee range. their range is usually very restricted. even illaoi is only effective near her tentacles, and mordes e doesnt do a lot of damage anymore.

the ones officially stated by rioters so far were Nasus (who was apparantly the power baseline for the other reworked juggs)

Garen Darius Skarner Mordekaiser Illaoi DrMundo Yorick

olaf, shyvana, and voli are apparantly more considered "divers" than juggs. though there is some overlap.

either way, you can see that except for morde who has noticable ap scalings in his kit, item 3053 item 3748 item 3143 item 3742 are generally attractive picks on them. some of them might not want a specific item, or one item more than another, depending on their playstile. but everyone of them usually builds at least one of these items.

the largest problem with juggs right now is imo that some of their items are working better on other champion types or specific other champions than the juggs themselves. adc and assassins are regularly abusing steraks to ebcome immune to burst while still having 5 damage items in their inventory.

bruiser yi isnt a big deal imo since he still trades a lot of damage for extra reliability. he feels like any other mobile bruiser. for example he doesnt seem more powerful than lategame jax.

bruiser fiora is a problem and needs adjustments to her scalings to reward ad stacking more than building jugg items.

one of the largest issues with jugg itemization seems to be that riot refuses to put more restrictions on them, like making them melee only. they considered it for duskblade. i dont understand why theyre not considering it for steraks.

Well. I got your point. Anyway I feel like AD-juggs Darius Illaoi Garen are pretty shitty right now. I got huge experience with them. I think Riots are going to forget about them for couple years.

Mundo is a monster no matter whom he lanes against. And Sion is a Juggernaut. Garen is completely relevant and amazingly balanced right now. Darius and Illaoi are too strong. I haven't seen a Yorick in forever, and Graves.... Yeah. I suppose if Graves is your standard, a lot of the Juggernauts are weak, especially Garen and Sion. Darius would have a rough time against Graves, and I would expect Illaoi wouldn't be as OP laning against him. The thing is, I like the new Graves. He's just too strong.
