Hear Me Out (About Yasuo)

Okay. Let's start off with me stating this. "I love to play Yasuo because he is fun to play, I hate playing against him because of why he is fun, and I hate having randoms on my team play him because of the obvious, my Yasuo<Your Yasuo deal"

Here are some nerfs, then buffs to compensate, that would make Yasuo a little more tolerable.

Nerfs:

  1. Get rid of movement speed and shield from Yasuo's passive.
  2. Remove Q cooldown based on attack speed
  3. Either remove armor pen after ulting. OR
  4. Make Yasuo tornado mark its targets, to which then he can ult to the people HE hits.

Buffs to compensate:

  1. Change his E scaling to AD, change cooldown to scale with Attack Speed
  2. Targets stay marked after being hit with Yasuo's ult, and when Yasuo hits them he deals a small amount of increased damage, OR his Q and auto attacks gain a small amount of armor pen for a short duration ONLY AGAINST THE TARGETS OF HIS ULT.

Reasonings.

  1. Double crit is a staple of Yasuo as a champion, to change it would be like reworking Aatrox again, Riot wouldn't be able to get it right
  2. Champions like Sivir and Vayne and Singed have passive that only give movement speed, and Blitz has a magic only shield. Yasuo doesn't really need any more than his Double crit for the sole fact that it isn't balanced in respect to other champions passives.
  3. Yasuo only seems OP in the late game because teams built around him use their abilites to allow him to ult for free, Malphite and Alistar are two examples. By forcing him to mark his own targets, and rewarding him for doing so, it'll force the Yasuo to actually play the game without waiting for a free ult.
  4. Windwall isn't op in my honest opinion, I just believe that if Yasuo windwall is going to be this strong, Braum needs a buff, buts that's for a different post.

Comment any arguments or changes you'd make to these things, I'm posting this here thinking that just maybe, enough people will agree, and not for the sole fact that they dislike Yasuo, but that they understand that he has too much going for his kit.

I think you entirely missed the things that make him frustrating to play against (windwall, ult teleporting you to the safest spot possible and filling the shield, shield providing tons of pseudosustain) and instead just shifted around his strength. I don't think this fixes anything and would make him less enjoyable to play.

Those compensation buffs aren't enough--- and if you nerf him/remove core pieces of his kit then Riot will overbuff him to compensate. Not to mention narrowing his ult window down more when its already situational is just bad design at that point. Ult really isn't the problem, plus its been nerfed pretty hard already compared to its previous version.

If there has been any fair changes I've seen proposed that won't invite a scenario that overbuffs him its been changing wind wall animation to start further from his body. That way if he's late on countering an ability he's punished.

If you change the crit, give him more ad, or pen then you'll be encouraging bruiser yas to exist----- Trust me no one wants that except maybe one tricks. You don't want to give him the ability to not need crit to one shot you, or to make his q's do more damage than his autos (with pen? RIP balance).

The true crux of his power is conqueror hands down--- that's getting changed if I'm not mistaken, so wait til then. If he doesn't get a replacement rune that is as strong as conqueror he will lose a lot of power and probably feel much better to fight.

Why is conqueror the problem? True dmg + free AD means Yas builds straight attack speed early with no need to worry about early AD. He stacks conqueror, engages and gets a free AD items worth of stat and ofc true dmg. All he has to do is auto a minion wait a few seconds and then hit you.

If he was using PTA- no bonuses unless he lands a clean 3 hit combo E excluded AND THEN he still has to keep autoing you to keep the bonus Fleet keeps him alive alot more but makes his damage "meh" compared to other options of his champ type. Trying to kill tanks or bruisers with this is difficult Temp- hahaha makes Q cd lower after hitting you thats it

Grasp is a niche option for top - doesn't work against everyone but if he stacks it enough its good.

So yeah - trust that he's in a delicate spot - so delicate that one rune is making or breaking his strength
