My Take on Fiddlesticks from an objective standpoint.

Let's face it, Fiddlesticks should have been reworked years ago - Demon Scarecrow translates incredibly well into a Champion kit.

##My Thoughts & Suggestions on Fiddlesticks' Current Abilities/Champion Identity (I'll try to break this down like I'd expect a Rioter to)

Terrify (Q)

  • You cannot have Ranged CC this powerful and make it a point-and-click.
  • Terrify in its current state actually takes up a lot of Fiddlesticks' power budget.
  • The fear could honestly stay if Riot could come up with a better way to apply it that that has more counterplay.

Drain

  • Drain should not be core to Fiddlesticks' gameplay.
  • It is legacy content.
  • It is a relic from a game that no longer exists. There are more than 5 champions that can clear the Jungle and a billion more champions with Hard CC that can make this Ability worthless. It's not 2011 anymore.
  • Fiddlesticks should be some unstoppable, Spooky f*cker fearing people and hurling Crows at them in the thick of a fight.
  • He should not be 100% reliant it to clear his Jungle.
  • Drain to Fiddlesticks should be what Spiderlings are to Elise - a nice little heal and a touch of extra damage.
  • It should not not root him and stop him from using Basic Attacks - ideally Drain would become his Passive or a Passive component of another ability.

Dark Wind

  • Pretty much all that's good about this ability is that you get to hurl crows.
  • The fact that it's a point-and-click silence has always seemed pretty unhealthy but at least it's a projectile so the handful of champions with untargetability or Braum/Yasuo wall have a chance at making it fizzle.
  • As a side note, why don't spellshields make this ability fizzle instead of bouncing to teammates?

Crowstorm

  • I'd actually like to see the channel removed and the blink removed. That part of the ability just makes me think 'what if Zac was a D-Tier Jungler that could get 1-shot'.

##Quick Rundown of how I Imagine a reworked Fiddlesticks

Dread (P)

  • Untouched.

Terrify (Q)

  • Hitting Enemies with damaging abilities builds up charges (1 for minion or monster, 2 for champions and epic monsters). At 6 charges, Fiddlesticks sends out a Terrifying Dark Pulse that fears champions within the ability's radius (350/400/450/500/550 Effect Radius) for 1.25/1.5/1.75/2/2.25 Seconds.

Drain (W)

  • Active - Fiddlesticks tethers himself to an enemy target dealing 80/105/130/155/180 (+45% AP) over 4 seconds.
  • Passive - 10% of Fiddlesticks' Damage to his tethered target from abilities is dealt again as True Damage. Fiddlesticks also heals for 60/70/80/90/100% of this damage.

Dark Wind (E)

  • Similar to current. Skillshot with diminishing silence & damage based off number of targets hit (think TF vs. Fiddlesticks in the cinematic trailer when Fiddle blasts TF with a swarm of crows). Ability speed slows down after it hits the first target. Trail continues to deal damage as it passes over enemies.

Crow Storm (R)

  • Channel Removed.
  • Blink Removed.
  • Duration increased to 8 seconds. Damage ramps up from 50%-100% over the first 4 seconds. Gains flat movement speed that ramps up from 50/75/100 to 100/125/150 over the first 4 seconds.

.....

  • Q will become too unreliable
  • W Only enemy champ? ... so monster in the jungle should die out of pity?
  • It's already hard to not be able to predict who will hit if the silence and the dmg decay it will become almost a pointless ability .... if you can even miss it at this point just totally get rid of his E
  • 8 sec? .... ramp up in 4? .... so you want an immoble mage to stay in the middle of the enemy lane for 8 Sec alive while he can miss his silence and can't rely on his fear in order to deal the dmg a draven can land with an auto?

Sorry man as occasionally Fiddle player i don't like any of your suggestion.

My bad the W isn't meant to be champions only.

As for the rest of the kit, the gameplay pattern would be something along the lines of charge up Q on raptors or by poking with E then Q W E. Or in a teamfight simply run in with R going, W Q E.

How would you like this. Instead of gaining ms a jumpy spook passive? Jump range would get extended if ulting

Works with W Works with standing on a place for whatever reason Works with ultimate with 2.5X more range

Change his E into a remote control bird skillshot missile which can be controlled with mouse. (Bird follows your mouse)

I mean fiddle is ussualy draining and doing nothing. This way you can control a crow, This type of idea would horribly conflict with ADC for example. But not for fid

I agree with most of the analysis but don't really like how you'd rework him.

What about borrowing an idea that was on the Boards some time ago, to make use of his "stop animating" passive?

  • Dread (passive): if Fiddle stands still long enough, he becomes motionless (and actually assumes the pose of a scarecrow, without simply freezing in place as it is now) If he takes damage after immobilizing himself, then every enemy in an X range is Feared for X seconds.

  • Q: Fiddlesticks leaves behind a copy of himself in the "scarecrow" pose; this copy just gives vision and copies his stats and items, but takes 30% maxHP damage from autoattacks.

This way you'd never know if you found a copy or the fiddle himself, and if it is the real Fiddle you get Feared and either Ulted or Drained.

  • W: no longer has a set duration; it costs 20 mana per second + 10 per additional second, goes on CD if cancelled or interrupted. It heals for the same amount as it does now and deals the same damage per second, + either an additional amount of damage per second of duration or a % damage resistance on him per second of duration.

This way Fiddle can still be interrupted or bursted, but no longer outDPSed by champs that shouldn't be able to. (I don't see a reason why it should passively deal true damage, and also we already have too much of that in the game)

  • E: has to change; its unreliability makes it a hassle to both Fiddle and his enemies, in any lane he goes to. (I'm referring to both his current E and your proposed rework idea for it) Fiddle doesn't really need to be countered more by mobility than he is now... he needs to either be able to keep up or be something you don't want to get close to in the first place. It's just unfair that he's not a threat up close and if he does manage to deal damage then he can't keep up or chase for the kill anyway. So, he either needs a survivability tool (good synergy with W and R), OR a tower/wave pushing tool (can capitalize on the enemy surviving but running/dashing away), OR a mobility tool (can chase the enemy surviving but running/dashing away).

  • R has to stay. His ability to surprise gank and turn fights around with it is just too core to his identity.

I really just wanted to blend what is iconic both thematically and gameplay-wise with something along the lines of Vlad/Swain but keep him distinctly a Jungler.

Which is a nice idea (and one of the reasons why I had upvoted this thread in the first place); I like your change for E but think it would be too unrealiable (well, unless it can damage towers or clear minions decently, in which case he becomes able to capitalize on the enemies surviving his ult by pushing out the lane and maybe taking the tower).

Also wanted to spread the idea of leaving fake scarecrows around, which imho is cool, helps with the vision game (extremely important for fiddle), and adds a sense of dread to the enemy players: is the scarecrow in that bush just a fake or is it the Fiddle himself ready to ult?

Don't read into the remake idea that much I spent like 10 minutes basically blending Fiddle's core elements into a generic battle mage kit (think swain if swain could jungle).

I just want Fiddlesticks to be a bit more mobile and lean more on the Demonic side of Demonic Scarecrow. I think sitting there waiting for passive and sitting there Draining and sitting there channelling ult lacks interaction and is incredibly boring.

EDIT: Not to mention, if R is no longer a channel then you can run Hextech Flashtraption and then R when you're on the other side of the wall. This ends up make his R more powerful than it is now.
