Aatrox Rework Thoughts??

I see the aatrox rework as a more controlled combo champion who keeps them close enough to hurt but not enough for them to hurt you. Aatrox has been one of my favorite pocket pick champs that i pull out in any role to have a fun game and do relatively well, and I don't think that the rework will change that he still feels like aatrox just more abilities and less autos. For all those that are saying that this champ is similar to riven are completely right, he feels like riven after my first look i thought this was just a copy pasted riven, but after looking at him more closely i realized that he is a lot slower and needs to be a lot more presice with his abilities in the combo's giving him a nice skill ceiling. I don't feel as if he is identical to riven just similar which is okay, because for over a year now people have been asking for simpler designs on kits and no more new mechanics, so this rework is a step in the right direction with very familiar abilities and playstyle but it's own unique twist. Although the w is a new mechanic it isn't iconic to the character and is a very small part to his kit overall so i kinda just overlooked although i find quite cool. I loved aatrox for the longest time especially because he was the first 6300 IP champion that i bought and all my friends laughed that i wasted my ip on that pile of garbage, it gave me a drive to improve and currently he is my only mastery 6 champion that i have( i have 2 tokens and im going to try to get him m7 before the rework). I love the step riot has taken with this champion and even if the champion that i loved will be gone this new one still feels relatively the same unlike previous reworks(galio, urgot). I was sad about urgot. My best winrate on 1v1 at 100% with 19 games played among friends of lower and higher skill, rest in peace.

Oh and um i see the complaints about his voice and tbh i kinda like it especially the accent, doesn't match his theme but i still like it.

Feels the same? How?

Gameplay: -Not focused around auto attacks. -No attack speed steroids. -No true resource management. -Much more based around cooldowns. -No burst damage ultimate. -No toggle heal or damage.

Lore: -Doesn't rally people under him. -Not a spirit of battle. -Great deeds taken away. -Transcendence in time removed. -From a dark demi god to a powerful warrior. -No sense of unknown. -No manipulation. -No sense of him influencing the greatest wars in history.

Idendity: -Not calm and collected. -No cold powerful demeanor. -No manipulative control. -No knowledge of people's deepst darkness. -Completely fueled by anger now. -He basically feels like one of the people he manipulated in his old lore...

Is it just me or did they copy paste his tower aa animation from Ekko? Like it’s legit exactly the same lol

This is easily the laziest rework I have seen in all my time playing this game (a little over 4 years). Every single piece of his kit feels copied from another champion. Almost everything of Riven's, Swain's ult animation, Ekko's auto animation. We have lost the level headed demon king to a berzerk Darkin fanservice warrior. Honestly everything seemed like it would be great until they started to move away from basing him around autos, and I assume that spiraled on until he lost his original identity altogether. It would be nice if his new ultimate would at least feel as impactful as it looked, but without the extended range and the burst, his ultimate feels pretty lackluster to use.

As a new champ, perhaps the new Aatrox would have potential, although I would think they should adjust his ult dramatically. As a rework for a champ already well established, this feels insultingly lazy on Riot's part. It's very rare that I am disappointed with their choices of action, but this is heinous.

I for one absolutely hate the new rework. Is it a cool kit? Yes. Is it fun to play? Yes. Is it aatrox? Hell no. To me aatrox has always been about unrelenting waves of attacks, stealing life, and being nigh unkillable. The new rework in my opinion just takes that feel away from him, and that's disappointing. It feels very cheap and rushed.

I think its trash way too slow and too similar to riven , I even prefer old Aatrox much more fun and viable

For the love of god take this lazy excuse of a rework away and give us Aatrox back already...

Just feels downright lazy to me. I like the voice, the look, but it doesn't feel like I'm playing Aatrox. Similar mechanics to Riven on the Q, sure, but come on Riot. I'm glad and satisfied with the fact that they actually gave him attention, I just feel a bit salty and underwhelmed that this is the result we get. His passive is now his ult (don't care how the ult resembles Swain since I actually like how it looks) and that just really gets to me. It's more reliable now I suppose, but I can't tell you how much I'm going to miss getting first blood at lvl 2, dying only to have my bloodwell save me. I have no idea what else the new ult is supposed to offer you (wouldn't mind a reliable chase down aspect of it that makes you more sticky). I don't actually mind the W all that much. It's like a scorpion, I'm just saying, "GET OVER HERE" kind of thing. I am in <3 with the fact that his healing actually has better scaling and no longer requires three hits to proc. As for the new E... I don't think I need to explain how laughable the range is. Has some outplay potential since you can store 2 stacks of it, but the range either needs an increase (still don't know how much extra dmg it offers) or it needs to be replaced with something else. Despite my satisfaction but more abundant disappointment with the rework, I, and just about everyone else that things it's lazy, are no doubt going to give it a try. Might make it work, might not.

P.S. I am not looking forward to all these "New Aatrox" mains who are going to be spamming him in every lobby and dodging games when he gets banned for being "broken" or because people are looking to take him into every single role available.

I think i made better kit a overnight,i mean look at it Passive:makes stacks like thresh but instead of ap and armor gets ad and life on hit(depicting his ability of getting stronger more bloodshed there is so his sword can"suck up") Q:like old q bigger hitbox, but instead of center(who nows deals most damage and no knockback)now edges have longest knockback and least damage(depicting his epic entrances in battles) W off: doubling life on hit from stacks but ad from stacks are halved.below 50 percent hp all healings are stronger 30 percent W on:doubling ad from stacks only on basic attacks(that bonus cant be scaled in abilities)but life on hit isnt there and healings are only 30 percent effective.(w depicts that he isnt little bitch like rhaast and varus,no it depicts that he is fucking demigod who will kill you just looking at you) E :three slashes which counts as basic attack only on targeted enemy(like yasuos q)with hitboxlike his reworked q second slash but damage on non targeted enemys are halved and healing on every non targeted champions like life on hit and life steal(which applies)(similar scaling to ravenous hydra) are effective 30 percent.(depicting killing 5 people at once like in trailer) well i thinked about giving im imortallity but first trynda was given that ult and there is so much similar abilities so i just said fuck it an i made this. R:fear everybody and then during ult doubled armor and magic resistance, can overheal up to 50 percent of his hp and side effects of w arent applied during ult,(and if this isnt strong enough there can be some attack speed buff 20-40 percent)(to show how big this mother fucker really is)

I just tested him released on the EUW server: Q takes so long that you won't be likely to hit any of his 3 bumps (3 bumps OP? you have to be able to hit them first), his W takes way too long to reactivate and take back to the center of the spell area, it's slow is weaker than old Aatrox's E slow (15% at level 1 urgh so useless), his E is hot garbage sine it's range is even smaller than Riven's and his cooldowns make him not a threat before long with inexistant DPS and regularity in damage. He relies on 2 spells to deal damage yet they have long base CD like he is made for engage but without any engage-oriented tools. He might be the most useless and the weakest juggernaut of this season.

LOL at people saying he was bad. In 5v5 he got the same problems as many AA-based champions, in 3v3 he was an awesome jungler and top laner with easy level 2 first blood. His ultimate made him stay relevant during fights even when a little far from ennemies with his buffed range, AS and easier passive and W use. Everything in his kit allowed him to do his job, he just needed a tool to block one disable and he would have been played again (as much as Jax I guess). His Q gave him a generous engage and the mobility he lacked, vs his new E that gives him barely more mobility than walking at base movement speed and no instant damage, only a boost on auto attack.

Compare: a juggernaut with 2 skillshots, the most garbage dash of all champions (Illaoi's is way more useful, as is everything in her kit as an unmoving rock that can chase you if you stay in range with BC's MS boost) and his ult sucks. Q is nearly impossible to land properly more than once (if you bump once it's already Christmas), W is countered by body blocking stupid MINIONS and E gives nothing useful at all. Mobile ennemies will laugh at you trying to land anything on them and immobile champions will just go into you and take distance before the 3rd Q and outdamage and outsustain you. Your ult brings nothing, since MS buff doesn't make his casting times faster to land skillshots, neither does it allow you to dash further, and the revive was his passive like Anivia before rework and now you don't even have that before level 6. VS Old Aatrox diversity: full AD for one shots (don't forget his AD scalings), attack speed for drain-tank and DPS, bruiser for engager, the diversity of runes he could choose between depending on which way you played him, a real engage that was also a real mobility spell (jumping over mid-size walls, range) and that could wipe a semi-wave of minions in mid game just with Q, R for duel/tealfight capability...it's like comparing warwick before and after rework, he was bad now he's good, Aatrox was good now he's bad.

Final point: His playstyle is the most boring of every champion I've played, and the only ones I haven't played (neither bought) are Pyke and Kai'sa. You just walk like a tourist, try to hit ridiculously unusable skillshots (Sion's Q is easier to hit honestly since it has the whole range to bump instead of a 1/4 of the hitbox) and bring strictly nothing else into teamfights. Nobody will ever have to focus him since he can't even wave clear fast unlike Sion.

Overall: I liked to play old Aatrox and the new one will be benched for the time it takes Riot to understand he's 5x worse than he was before rework. 0 mobility, 0 utility without landing trashy skillshots, 0 DPS, less sustain than before, one more champion entering the juggernaut team, nothing new worth mentionning. His gameplay is garbage and so are his PVP performances. You can still try to enjoy playing him against beginner bots if you having nothing else to do.
