1 dodge per series

These are the most important 3/5 games of the entire division, and it gets ruined by trolls. The least you can do is allow a strategic dodge for trolls and toxic people in champ select. The only downside to this would be the players have to re-queue. THAT IS THE ONLY DOWNSIDE.

The least you can do is allow a strategic dodge for trolls and toxic people in champ select.

That would make things worse.

Think of it this way: there's 10 people per game.

If you're willing to dodge 1 queue, it's possible the next 9 queues will also be dodged.

With purely random factors going into dodging: having a 1/10 chance to dodge a queue works out to a ~35% chance a queue will actually get underway to a match (90%^10).

In this 10% case: only 1/3 queues making it into a game is another way of saying picks/bans is effectively 3 times longer (and that phase can take up to 8 minutes).

If you account for picks/bans taking ~5 minutes: each dodge also wastes a collective 45 minutes of 9 people's time, and with an average of 2 queue dodges in this example it's a collective 90 minutes wasted for everyone.

Dodging is also extremely undemocratic, as it allows the will of 1 to override the will of 9 other people.

While 1/10 games being dodged due to 1 free promo dodge is perhaps overselling the effects, if everyone had a free dodge in promos it would be difficult to see anyone ignoring that if there team looked the least bit off.

Having free dodges also doesn't do anything to counter trolls and ruffians, as they'd be just as inclined to dodge a game that's looking promising as you're liable to dodge a game that looks unsatisfactory.
