You shouldn't be playing support unless you enjoy it
If you want to do damage and get kills, don't play support.
Support is meant to reward players who enjoy enabling and disabling. This includes, but is not limited to, warding, soft CC, hard CC, healing, shielding, buffing, doing poke damage, blinding (for all you Teemo support players out there), and even denying vision through
and
.
If you don't find any of this entertaining, don't play support. Leave the role to someone who enjoys the role or understands it to the point they can effectively do this.
If you want to play support and don't know how, by all means, do. But don't complain that you feel like you aren't doing anything simply because of your role. You have just as much, if not more, impact than the rest of your team to make plays. Use your utility. Use your kit. Make some gaps.
Just a few tips from a support player who recently came back from a 3 year break.
Edit: TIL people think Supporting = getting all of the kills.
Good to know that the LoL community is still pretty crazy.
