I noticed that with Pyke your engage tools (W move speed camo + E dash) are also your disengage tools. So if you blow all your shit going in then you have no escapes... it makes an interesting choice on when to use abilities.

But with a champion like Zed you can blow all your engage tools and still be perfectly safe to escape. You are always safe to disengage and there's less risk or choice on when to use abilities because there's not much downside to going all in... just press R again and escape.

I prefer the former... I think it's a better design.

Pyke is also considered a support. This reasoning makes him a team player who thrives when there are others to back him up so he can be a playmaker rather than a standalone assassin. I am not sure if you are comparing it to Zed and Pyke both as supports or both as mid laners. Your opinion is your opinion and I would love to discuss it but I need to know on what basis you believe it is better design if they are meant for different roles.
