ARSR

Am I the only person that's actually really interested in this game mode and excited to try it out? I can't wait to see how teams adjust to getting random champs. I love the gamemodes that force you to play out of your comfort zone and off meta. Like how would a Lulu Braum Galio Zilean Bard team work? Lulu adc, Braum top, Galio jungle, Zilean mid, Bard support? Or drop jungle and go Braum/Galio top? Or have Braum support and have Bard roam the map and support wherever? I love it.

Maybe I'm just weird. Oh well. I'm sure they'll bring URF back sometime before season 8. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Broken team comp wars is all this mode is. I much prefer the mode where people pick the other teams champions.

You're not alone on that interest. I've recently found myself in blind pick games sitting back and waiting for all the roles to be called and ultimately winding up in the bot lane. When I get something else I'm just not in the mood to play meta and run something uncommon (recent Cho'Gath jungle game).

The only thing I worry about is whether or not that tendency to call a role based off the chosen champion is going to linger into this mode. Nonetheless I'm probably going to do the very thing I do in ARAM already. I get my champ, run summoner 21 summoner 13 because I like being helpful while not dying, and game on unless the enemy team is loaded with death. For ARSR, I'll probably do the same only with summoner 11 regardless of the champion for specific reasons. I do it for URF and OFA already regardless of role/position.

I absolutely adore this game mode. It's so fun! There's something just enjoyable about doing the best with whatever you happen to get.

just played a game of it. probably the worst gamemode created by riot . it is not fun, it is not a nice change

I just played a game of it. It's not bad, but still very "up to chance". Enemy team had Mundo, Nasus, Trundle, and Soraka. Enough said. :P

Riot should just bring back Black Market Brawlers. Was like a normal game of league, but with different kinds of minions, and items and it was so much fun. There was some crazy non meta team comps that you could make work

I usually like Riot's game modes but to be honest this is absolute trash. Zero creativity and effort put in this mode. Literally they just made the picks random . If someone mains the character they have it ruins all of the game.

Played it, can confirm it's utter shit.

Sounds like riot post 2015

I figured it was a bad idea, but I've actually been really enjoying ARSR. Only complaint is that it's sometimes super rushed to work out lanes, let alone runes & masteries, esp if someone rerolls. The interesting part is adapting to an unexpected comp, but you don't always have time to do so.

Hey just popping in to say that this is by far the worst game mode. Why bother playing on summoners rift if there's literally no strategy and all you do is fight. Might as well play ARAM where you dont have to go far to find the fight... Whoever came up with this mode didn't think it through.

I Hope This Game Mode Doesn't Stay In Community Long ...It's Bull shit! Bring Something Different From The Normal Game That's Available All week Long... By Putting This Out Its Easy to See The Creator Is Getting Lazy not much effort Put Into This, ARSR SUCKS!

I really look forward to the weekend modes so this is a huge bummer. But luckily I have family visiting the next two weekends so wouldn't have much time to play. Hopefully the next weekend mode will be something better. I don't see the point in this at all.

Holy shit, I thought ARSR was going to be a cover for URF as the April Fools game mode when I heard about it - like NURF was in 2015! Are you saying they actually released it as a featured game mode?!

Turfnima4/14/2017, 10:07:15 PM1 votes

ARSR sounds like a really lazy project that some programmer did over two weekends. We all love random games, but we want a little twist and fun when we play. I hate these parts of ARSR: it requires a team to play with randomness they cannot control, and in a casual game we are supposed to just relax and have fun, some times that means we don't want to give a damn about warding, cooperating with teammates, etc. Besides that, while there is totally URF mode we know we could have, bringing ARSR just seem like a "fuck you players" from riot.[slayer-jinx-unamused]

I'm very much looking forward to it, but am anticipating people to be prone to dodging if there isn't a vaguely conventional team comp, and peoples champs pools being such that e.g. 'all support' or 'all melee' comps would be very improbable.

Still, I look forward to playing some very unconventional supports/adcs. Perhaps while getting flak from teammates who happened to get meta champs for their role who may not be as understanding of why their adc is janna or whatever.
