The Worst Game Ever

I'm here today in the board to tell you a story. One of a horrendous game of League of Legends that I had the misfortune of being involved it. This game happened a mere hour or so ago. The title may be a bit of an exaggeration, but nonetheless, it's still somewhat accurate.

This game started just fine. No one spoke in the champion select, so I had no idea of what I was in for. At the start of the game things were fine. Everyone went where they should, no one was speaking still, but I'd rather have silence than witness what was to come.

It all started going wrong when our Thresh died. Our Lucian could have saved him, he did have his heal available, but he did not. This may have been a mistake, I do not claim to know, but our Thresh handled it poorly. He spent the rest of the game sitting in fountain, not doing a thing. From there the Lucian started getting toxic, lashing out against our midlane Ezreal and our jungle Evelynn for their poor performance in said game. I was playing Teemo in the toplane, and was not a subject in this verbal abuse to begin with.

Things only escalated from there on. Our Evelynn and Ezreal retaliated of course, only making the chat horrendous. Why I didn't use the mute function... I honestly don't know. I probably should have, a serious error on my part. At one point, our Lucian, upset with Evelynn, decided to make the claim in allchat that Evelynn had called him a... Slur which has no place in League, but I'm sure your imagination can fill in what was said. He asked the enemy team to report her for doing this, but she had said no such thing. She didn't react well to this though, and asked for reports in return due to how toxic the Lucian was being.

I made a mistake in this too. Towards the end of the game I made one single message in allchat. I stated "This is the first game since the new honor system was added that I'm going to skip the honor screen." Which was a true statement, but a statement I should not have said nonetheless. This only spurred the Ezreal on to attack me in allchat in the few seconds that remained of this game.

This game was horrendous. This game was a showing of the absolute worst the League of Legends community has to offer. I'll normally always honor a teammate, usually based on how friendly they are above all other factors. But sometimes a silent teammate will get my honor if I feel no one else on my team deserves it. In hundreds of games since the new honor system this was the first one where I felt skipping it was the only acceptable option. This shouldn't ever happen. There is no reason to be like this to your teammates. It costs nothing to be nice, but it could cost so much more to be like these players. It goes without saying that I did report all players on my team at the end of this game, as every player on my team flagrantly broke LoL's terms of service and made the game an overall worse experience.

If you take anything from this story it's just... Don't add to the toxicity. Make this game a pleasant one to play.

I came in here expecting some story about how League is the worst and everything about it is bad and how you got banned and what not. I was pleasantly surprised and am actually upvoting in the hopes that more people read your thread. If only more people put this much time into their threads...

This is why I always stay quiet, and only talk when necessary.

This is 80% of my games, get a thicker skin and mute all

People need to see this to see how you are supposed to handle toxicity. You don't respond to it and feed into it. Well done.

i acctually experience this rather frequently where i don't feel the need to honor anybody on my team. If they said anything toxic during that game, no matter to whom, they won't get honor. That simple

You've led quite a charmed life, haven't you? Check your privilege!

Hands down the WORST, most broken game and the MOST greedy, morally empty company! Riot has turned this game to complete trash by allowing game ruiners and feeders to keep playing with no punishment while literally stealing accounts from people who got tilted because of those parasites and said something negative to them in chat. #BurnRiotToTheGround!

I mean I would the rest of your post, but I feel like you're new here. Have you not realized this is the absolute worst online community?

This sums up about all of my experience right here. I always try to honor people because there's always something good to be found even in defeat. It's an extreme rarity where I can find no reason to honor someone. I'm sorry you had to be in that game, and am profoundly impressed that despite not muting the entire team you resisted the urge to become just like them. Kudos to you!

What I learned in LoL school is to always use the mute on site of toxic player Edit: My story Shortly after the honor system was first introduced, I was playing a game as Warwick. I was losing pretty bad early game, something like 0-3 or 0-4 not sure since i forgot to take a pic. My team started giving me grief for my poor performance, which even to me was so bad that my shame actually made me decide to just /mute all and try to just do better without the insults and reminders of the horrible early game. Eventually I became tanky enough and with the power of item 3025 and item 3053 for damage on my q we somehow won and I was given most honors. At this point I slipped up in the post game chat, I said "duh fuck I muted all of you" they didn't really care and laughed it off since we won.

Moral of the story, adding oil is bad for both the initial fire starter, those who are also jumping into the fire, those who want to put out the fire and yourself if you jump in it too.

I think all thos players are used to behave like that; so why isn't there a proper matchmaking that takes into account factors like that?

To this day, the lol community still doesn't ask the people to admit their mistakes, but ask all of us (including the person making mistake) to be deaf to all things.

Obviously fighting fire with fire isn't a good idea, but why is it no one wants to be a responsible person and own up to their mistake, and only mute when that doesn't work?

It goes without saying that I did report all players on my team at the end of this game, as every player on my team flagrantly broke LoL's terms of service and made the game an overall worse experience.

And it's a shame that they'll never be punished.

This sounds incredibly unfortunate.

I often skip the honor page a lot sadly. Sometimes it's very difficult to have any positivity to give.

Sounds pretty vanilla to me. Beside the statement of honoring such amounts of games. Free handouts or what? Wth...

I appreciate you coming out and sharing this story with us. Games would be so much more enjoyable if everyone let bygones be bygones, but I always see people make the mistake of adding fuel to someone's fire. A single drop of gasoline goes a long way.

Thank you, seriously. [sg-ahri-2]
