MMR for normals after playing with noob friends for a year +

Question (that I may or may not get an answer to)-

Has anyone else tried teaching new friends to play, obviously incurring an abnormal amount of losses over a year... and then once you start playing without them, you get paired with REALLY, really bad players? I really wanted some of my friends to get into the game, so I kept trying to teach them and encourage them (it was a painful year... truly).

Anyways, I should have used one of my other accounts because my record is god awful now too... but here I am, trying to move on and play for wins again and truly I'm getting some epic bad teammates. Like people who don't even know whether champs are AD, AP, role, etc... or others that never communicate, or others who don't understand how to use abilities (eg.: a Hecarim two games ago that only used ult to escape, because he thought it was supposed to be used for that...).

I'm wayyyy past the point where these should be questions. So... what happened? I mean.. these aren't just other people who did the same things as me. These aren't smurfs.. these are 110% really shitty or really new players and making really bad calls, don't understand how to engage, prioritize, even the basics sometimes.... Its so bad I'm about to swear off this account.. or maybe this game for a while. Is my MMR magically screwed somehow?

its getting to the point where its just a self-fulfilling prophecy. Equally bad and equally toxic personalities. Even last game, "we are having a bad night, sorry, but we are trying again..." .. great. Can't wait.

So, actually when you lose with your friends of lower MMR in the game, it will hurt your MMR MORE than if you just lost a game by yourself.

The reason is because the game average MMR is below your own, so if you lose, I guess matchmaking thinks it needs to compensate even further for the loss.

It sucks, but it really does help to discourage helping new players learn the game.

Wow. That is actually really shitty. My MMR must be beyond abysmal, lol. Like.. this past week I'm actually blown away at how bad players are, and I thought I saw it all in the past four years. Thanks Alsek. Probably dumping this account....
