As an AP Mid I'm on the fence with Preseason

As a Syndra Main, I was really worried about all the changes. But when I saw this in a different thread:

> -First off the spectral crow has LESS MR on it , giving mages a chance to do more damage even after someone gets the item. > -Second, the banshees and SV (although the MR is higher), the cost is also higher, so it will take longer to get that banshees veil. > -Starting gold is higher, gold income is higher. > -No mana potions, however they have 3 refillable flasks now hat provide way more than enough sustain and chalice has never gone anywhere. > -45% COOLDOWN REDUCTION CAP now: Tibbers is always out, Twisted fate can smack you with two gold cards if quick enough, etc. > -Rod of ages got buffed to have 80 AP like most other items AND is a tanky item as well. > -They are building ARMOR against the all powerful Attack damage Carry and not magic resist. That means more 1 shots for your Leblanc, more penta kills for your annie, and more Ace cleanups with your Brand. > -A keystone that gives you a free ludens echo proc for waveclear on those hard to hit/slow clearing mages. > > relax, before you assume mages are dead. Read the patch notes and stop assuming.

I'm not too worried. I'm still worried, but I'm not freaking out. Because since I know her inside and out, I know her weaknesses and play accordingly. With ADC getting insane buffs, I'll take the advice and build armor. All I really need are three items to go Battlemage on people. The other three slots are basically "situational." With situations looking like I need armor just to survive, then I'm guessing I'll buy armor. I second ADC with Tristana so I already know the upside of it all.

Look, Syndra is rough to play. But she can wreck faces in Mid-Late game if played/built right. Yes, the removal of Mana pots was big. But I never really played with them so it doesn't affect me. Even though I Third Support with Janna I can still be helpful without them.

However, the new Mastery Trees do have me concerned. Looking through all the threads, actually getting info instead of spamming about Riot messing up, I see how the new trees don't help AP champs. Although there is a few, it seems to me that it's focused more towards everyone else. Plus you have to spend points to get to those high level perks instead of focusing on what you really need.

All I see this as is a challenge to Mage/AP champion players to up their game. And you know what? Challenge accepted Riot. Challenge accepted. Let me remind everyone that there was a time when a patch made ADC cry in the corner. Also from another thread I saw a nifty little "way of focus" where Riot rotates the meta.

If 5.20 was the Season of Juggernauts, Preseason is the Season of ADC, it's almost safe to assume that Season 6 will be the Season of Mages. This could be wrong but I would like to point out that long ago there was a Season of Assassins. If all else fails I'll just go mid with Akali

As a Velkoz main I like winning every lane I'm in. Then I cry when my team dies because they don't understand how to not feed.
