How is riot STILL MISSING THE POINT on Chromas?
Ok Riot. Can I please talk to you about Chromas? **I love that you are making them again. **I want to buy them!
I DO NOT. Want to buy a chroma for a SKIN. I want to buy cheap chromas for champions that I don't have skins for. That is what you are missing here.
HOW will you get my money on cottontail teemo chromas? I haven't felt like paying for cottontail teemo yet, I'm certainly not going to buy it just to get the pink one (NO! I won't! And you can't make me!).
The last time around you didn't sell enough and blamed too poor quality. Which is an understandable statement. They were just recolors... AND NO ONE WANTS TO PURCHASE AN awesome looking expensive skin and then recolor it.
At least, very few people do in the grand scheme of things.
You are trying to market chromas to a subset of a subset. This being the people who like a champion enough to have bought a skin originally, but now are bored and want another color of that skin.
You should be using chromas to appeal to people who don't have a ton of money to spend, but several champions they need skins on. I'll even buy them 3-5 at a time if I can get them across different champs!
Seriously what metrics are you using that show recoloring existing skins is better than the original skins? Your market is SHRINKING. GROW your market. Put chromas on base skins and move on from there.
