Not taking support = troll picks

I play a lot of support, like a LOT the only times I play something else is if I'm trying something new, (kha'zix build changes for example in recent match history) or if someone picks it away from me.

Until a few hours ago, when I decided I want to try and play top lane. Since then, more then 17 ques later I HAVE NOT BEEN IN A SINGLE QUE WHERE SOMEONE HASN'T TROLL PICKED.

Say I get first pick, fine I ban people then pick top lane and lock in. Everyone locks in fine until finally comes last pick "where am I going?" they ask. "support!" we all say. "fuck that!" he replies then locks in kalista ADC.

This has happened, 17 times. Someone troll picks, someone locks in top lane even tho I picked before them or someone locks in ADC even tho ADC was locked in already. Someone picks mid even tho mid is already locked in or both people lock in the same lane at the same time.

17 fucking times. I've dodged 3 ques so far and everyone else was kind enough to dodge for me the other times.

What the fuck is wrong with people? The only time I can ever possibly get into a que without any problems is if I take support. People hate that lane so much they would rather troll then play it so I'm forced into playing it or I'm forced to deal with trolls? Like wtf is this?

People have wayyyyy too much control in champ select the fact that one person can suddenly ruin an entire draft by being a little %%%% is not fair to the rest of the people in que especially when it's the very last person to play and you're like 5 minutes into draft phase and suddenly you need to wait all over again because someone is a huge bitch.

Riot needs some sort of resolution to this because this is happening non stop to me I just got out of a fourth que dodge cause someone once again decided they don't want support and troll picks.

90% of the time I offer to fill in solo queue. The other 10% I always offer to do 1 more role than my pick order (I.E. if I'm first pick, I offer 2 different, roles, 3 for second pick, 4 for third and 5 for forth and fifth). I surprisingly end up supporting only about 40% of the time. I know one of my best strengths as a player is versitility (I don't rock at any one champ, but can play most of them pretty well) so I use that to let other people do what they do best.

Unfortunately, this kind of attitude does not actually win games as much. I usually do well in whatever role im playing, sometimes I have bad games but I keep the feeding to a minimum, but ultimately, one role generally screws up so bad that things snowball out of control and we lose. So whenever I'm deliberately trying to climb, I find someone who's either stupidly snowbally or OP, learn them and pick them obsessively and carry until I get where I want (which is gold, because all I really care about are the skins). Last season it was Fiora mid, I'd get first blood consistently at level 3, sometimes it took until 6, but I always got it. Then the jungler would try to gank and I'd get a double, and proceed to slaughter their mid lane under the tower with fiora's ult. I would then push up mid, surprising people with the fact that I could reliably 1v3, and roam. This season it was Leblanc. I'd play passive early, kill with the powerspike at 6 and then roam all day, abusing the fact that most people in silver are bad at warding. This, and only this, has been effective for me at climbing; when I trust my team to do well, they generally dont.

I like relying on my team and trusting them, but sadly, you are not rewarded for this type of behavior in solo queue. So while the trolling is MUCH more destructive than anything else, I can understand why people are reluctant to pick the most team reliant role (support). You really can't trust anyone at any elo to actually do well. I like giving people the benefit of the doubt, but our ranking system is so unbalanced with so many people who either boosted, or are smurfing, or are lucky and suck, or are unlucky and rock and should be higher, that you have to take an extremely active role and essentially carry if you want to climb.

i feel like people call on troll picks way to fast

if i pick zed/lb suport i might legitly be trying to suport

i feel like zed use to be/is a good pick against most squeeshy healers cause you can just delete them and easily outpoke u he brings somewhat of utility but maily poke

lb is a ful utility suport with her clone 3 snares and mobility

i know sona is an actual suport or morgana with her snares and thresh with his hook

how ever go and predict where im gonne flash to with my w on leblanc every 4 seconds while instantly trowing her 3 snare on you folowed by her ult another snare wich once of done my the third snare gets of cooldown

really sounds like a suport to me but if id pick it in ranked and tell them i got lvl 5 playing leblanc suport i can play a verry good leblanc suport but if i go mid lane i WILL get raped cause i dont play ap leblanc i am bad at it i see my laner switching his mid laner for thresh cause im troling

this isn't the conversation or topic I'm having. I'm saying people are troll picking as in, they take kalista ADC whal someone has already locked in ADC. It's not a case of someone picking an off meta pick (such as diana support which I play, or poppy support) This is the cases of people just taking other peoples lanes despite them being picked earlier (picking mid even tho someones already picked for mid)

Noone wants to afk in the bush half game. Supporting is boring and everyone hates the ADCs. Pre lvl 30 people play with no jungle and no adc + sup meta and games are generally more enjoyable.

Lol cute. As a support main my job is anything but boring. Depending on the lane and the champs, you might just be waiting for a mistake, anyone who fights a Leona or Morgana knows one mistake can cost most of your life if not the whole thing. Or you might be on H/H duty, healing and harassing, going just hard enough to keep the enemy adc from the cannon minions. A good support will end the game with more gold than some of their team mates.

Some players find the support role to be quite engaging. Most players do not. And as the OP can back up, players will go to extreme lengths to avoid doing it. You think those players would have troll picked had they been forced top or mid? Perhaps a small portion of them, but I'm betting that most would not have.

That's because top or mid can actually be fun and rewarding if you're forced there, support takes a special kind of personality to enjoy. If you don't have that personality, support will not be as fun or engaging for you as other roles, and you'll seek to avoid it. No one is going to argue that support is the most unpopular role, just ask the OP or anyone who's waited in teambuilder for one. Support mains are in demand, because it's difficult to find one out of every five players to play the role.

And MLD's point about pre-30 play is valid, and also reflected in coop vs ai games, since the meta means nothing there as well. Junglers are rare because the role is the most complicated and demands things newer players may not have, like map awareness and decision making. Supports are rare because most people want to be the one killing people, not the one that helps someone else kill people.

In the example you said, duo ADC is a meta, also, you need to decipher troll picks from off meta picks

okay no you're not understanding.

When someone is told "You're playing support" and they say "fuck that, no" and pick Kalista ADC (as in my most recent game) or lock in yasuo or some shit to head mid lane. And they make it very clear it's not just an off meta pick, then they are intentionally trolling and fucking with everyone else int he game because they can't handle taking support.

There is no obligation to play support just cause it's the meta. I won't do it unless my team is very nice to me or I'm with friends because it just doesn't suit my playstyle. 'll happily go bot lane but I'm going to be Csing and getting kills like it's a duo bot, not a 0 cs support plus adc.

Also Kalista is how you ensure all the last hits are yours cuz her mark passive give her the kill.

Team builder is your friend. And soon(tm) Ranked Team builder will prevent this sort of behavior in ranked. Until then, you'll just have to deal with trolls/people who throw a fit when they don't get the roll they want.

You better not call that person a troll, though. You will get hit with a 34 game chat ban.
