ELO Hell - Now I Understand

I hadn't played ranked since Season 4, on any account. I always just sort of assumed people were just frustrated when complaining about 'ELO Hell.' After I got my account back (turns out it had been hacked in the few months while I was playing on alts) it was sitting at Silver V. Well, we can't have that. I start climbing back up out of silver - with a 5:1 win ratio required just to advance, as the MMR the idiot got was horrendous.

Would assume that stomping a mudhole through silver would have fixed, or adjusted, the MMR to the point where I stop losing more for a single loss than 3 wins... but no, it has barely moved at all! It took a week, merely due to the random AFKs and blatant trolls to climb up one single tier inside Silver. It didn't matter how well I perform, or how well I do, I am locked in tight. Advance up to Silver IV, finally feel like I am making progress... spend 2 games with people who enter the champ select stating they are going to troll. Welp, I don't dodge, so I drop back to Silver V.

Now I understand, finally, what people are talking about when they talk about ELO Hell. When I go 14-2, dominate my lane - swap lanes with someone else and dominate THEIR lane - and still watch the other team just feed on my team like they are beating baby seals with bladed clubs... there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. There is no amount of work, effort, or skill that I can apply to actually salvage most of these games, even when I can take 3 of their team out by myself... and sit and watch my teammates die to the last two.

This is crap, and the only reason I am even having to deal with it is because apparently Support can fix your Honor, any punishments, any payment alterations and refunds, and ANY OTHER ASPECT of your account after you have been proven to be hacked... but they can't even reset your Rank and let you re-do your placements? Really? So now I really do get ELO Hell. There is literally nothing I can do, except make a team and climb that way. No amount of solo skill can carry most of these people.

Lol this is funny bro but if you were actually say a plat+ player and decent then those games would be fun and easy. That's why people smurf in the first place, it's fun and easy.. if you're struggling to carry consistently down there then you're not in elo hell, you're just actually a silver player.

you just got to grind through S5 and S4 with your ABSOLUTE best champs...

the reason being that there is HUGE skill fluctuation at S4-5 since a lot of brand new players are thrown in there since its the average placement position they are thrown in (they will drop to Bronze if they keep playing, but not before ruining a few games for others).

It gets much easier from S3 to S1 with a slight difficulty bump at the higher end of S1-G5.

its less of an elo hell if you stick to champions that can be strong at all points in the game (ex Vladimir MissFortune)

New accounts are dropped in to S3 and fall to B3 so Climbing out of Silver is like swimming up a waterfall. There are a few that make it to upper silver but are still "New" and so fall easily too.

THEN you have all the Smurfs that are hard stuck in their Plat and Diamond accounts and since you have a better MMR then the rest of your team they are placed on the enemy team.

Silver gives you teams like (your team) Yasuo Top Shaco Jungle Swain Mid Caitlyn ADC Zoe Support

Vs

Darius Top Jax Jungle Ekko Mid Kaisa ADC Leona Support

Who will win?

Silver 5 was difficult at first but if you just focus on one or two champions and actually have the skill/game knowledge you can get out fairly easy. I just hit platinum and I gotta say this has been far worse then any elos i've been in before.

Exactly, you understood finally what is elo hell:

What someone that's not good enough to carry in low elo cry about.

The game has fundamentally changed bro.

It's all about teamwork, positioning, and playing all around smarter than before.

You disrespect your opponents power spike? You die.

You get ganked halfway up the lane without flash? You die.

Get hit with CC in a teamfight? You die.

It is much much harder to climb out of silver if you are an actual silver player because not dying means a hell of a lot more now than it did before.
