Now that people are playing new ryze
Can somebody tell me what the counterplay to this guy is?
He outranges every champion I play.
Even if I manage to close the distance, he outdamages my champion in close range.
Like wtf???

and I absolutely destroy Ryze. Super easy lane. Works like this. You get bullied hard for a bit then you go back and buy a 
then all in him and win easily. You can all him in every time your ult is up and you win super hard. Dont forget you can use your clone to block Ryze's Qs
Which champions do you usually play?
Generally speaking you need to out-sustain him until he runs out of mana and can't harass you any longer.
For tanks and bruisers, start with doran's shield, rush an early specter's cowl.
For Slayers you can try going for sustain through lifesteal.
For Ap champions you could try rushing a banshee's veil, as this will mess up his combos if you can avoid his poke until you go in for a trade.
Ryze is always known for being a strong mage, however in the current state he's in he can be stomped on. You can use burst champions or poke him down in lane.
