Oh you built hourglass? Cute. Too bad the game's already over and you've already died at least once so you automatically lose the game as Zed gains 3+ levels on you and automatically wins every trade ever cause of thunderlords and precision (jk there's no trading with Zed his ult is up 24/7), 2 masteries Riot farted out specifically to give Zed and Lee the BJ they totally needed.

Yeah try to outpoke Zed with Xerath, see what happens.

Its really funny how people think a 3800g item that no one rushes is counterplay lol. this isnt dota, items should never counter other characters.

Because zed has no real costs, and has waveclear, and has so many oh shit buttons, the second he gets ahead he snowballs extremely hard.

Yea, because xerath doesnt have a stun that he can throw out as zed lands. Sure, if you miss the stun, and or flash mid ult animation he destroys you, but that's on you.

I have a strict hatred for anything that's energy or no resource, but I still know my counterplay options. These do not apply if someone else feeds him, this is true for everyone however.

Not even close. Once zed ult animation finishes he appears behind you. All you got to do is throw your stun at the right time.

Come on man, if you're going to make a claim in your title like that you need to at least be credible in your explaination.

Zed has cooldowns, yes. He can build cooldown reduction, yet. Mindlessly spamming spells will eventually land him with no energy. Energy regens fast, but has a limited pool, making it useful early game but it falls off lategame because teamfights last longer than their first rotation (which is why energy champions lean toward assassins. Even Lee Sin goes in, and then goes out).

And as someone who played Zed to figure out what the hype was, yes if you spam WQE you will run out of energy fast. Spamming shadows is not a good thing, and E falls off in damage after your opponent buys some armor until you put more than one point into it. Yes, I figured that out playing him. It helped with me playing against him, because level four and onward I would tank an E or two and win trades by not fearing the shadows. Q, however, should always be dodged.

Generally I believe Zed players start with the ultimate due to it not being a nuke, but a damage amplifier and a death mark to finish off low health enemies. I mean, if you're going to complain at least get the playstyle right.

I see everyone telling you how to counter them, and because you are so full of salt, you denounce it as not true or find some dumbfuck noob reason that its not good. If zed kills you at 6, you played it wrong.... its simple. Dodge... if you go under half back the fuck out. I bet you flash mid ult animation so he lands with you...

I will throw the oldest arguement out there: if he is so powerful without counterplay, why then do you not play him?

and don't give me that bullshit "I dont play him because its too easy to win" line. If you say that, then you don't want to win even if it were true.. as it stands, zh on a mage makes him useless, scimitar on ad does the same thing, only it lets you keep attacking unlike zh.

Do you play Zed? Because if you seriously think he is bad right now then I think it's time you find a different champion. Zed is doing tremendously well right now, better than he was when he had a 50% ban rate last season.
