Need Suggestions For Low-Tier Mid Counterplay

So I've had a sting of around 5 games now where I'll begin the game by winning mid lane - zoning out other mid, usually up around 20 cs and a kill or two at 10-15 minutes.

Then, the opposing midlaner will pretty much just leave lane and go gank either top or bot. My understanding is that the best thing to do is ping, keep getting up cs and take mid turret, but for 5 games now, bot/top have ignored my pings and fed mid laner several times. By the time he comes back into lane, I'm up 40-50 cs but he's got more items from kill gold and is now winning lane.

Any suggestions for how to play this? Should I make a habit of leaving lane and trying to counter gank? I've tried that twice now and my teammates just sit there creating a 1v2 where I usually die and don't even have the cs to show for it.

If you think you can still outduel your enemy midlaner, taking teleport as a summoner spell is something which allows you to help out bot and top lane a lot more, especially if you are not a roaming machine like Fizz or Leblanc.

Tell them your laner is roaming. They should back out. If you shove out mid, then you roam. The laner should go back mid and bot might be pushed out and you should be there :D.

Dont countergank then

When they leave lane to gank top, walk down bot and get a doublekill

Ok... I'm hardly an expert but I think the problem here is this... How you win high elo games and how you win low elo games is drastically different.

In low elo games everyone is... frankly... dumb. They're all aggressive and cocky and want to fight and get kills. They take foolish risks, don't understand match ups, don't follow overall strats and mostly just kinda try to "outplay" each other. In low Elo what wins games is being able to utterly curb-stomp your enemy, get fed and then carry your team yourself. You CAN rely on your teammates, but that's a risky idea when low elo players are infamous for throwing, giving away leads and just plain making stupid choices. That top laner you got 3 kills might ignore everyone and splitpush alone all game, getting ganked repeatedly and feeding back more than his lead in gold. Your other teammates might decide to afk farm raptors instead of taking towers or dragon while 4 people show top to stop said splitpusher. There's just poor choices made all around and you can't count on your team (or yourself, really) to know the best moves in a given situation. Your best chance of winning would be to stomp the enemy so hard that someone afk's in a rage or the enemy team all fall apart fighting each other. It's harder said than done unless you're actually very good.

At higher Elo (I have heard), players understand the game better. While you still get cocky and reckless players, most teams understand stuff like "I shouldn't push top now, since my team is all backing and I'll get 5 man ganked and die for nothing" or "Oh look, the jungler is dead and the fed Riven is bot, we can rush baron". In short, they make better moves, and they usually give up leads less once they have them. Higher Elo games seem to be less about trying to g0 15/1 and curbstomp and more about trying to outsmart the enemy by predicting their plans and their movements. Wards are godly and knowledge matters more than that shiny new longsword you bought.

Granted, I'm just guessing on both of these given what I've seen and heard. I'm a lowly silver 1 myself, but I have a few friends in every Elo Diamond to Bronze. Best of luck!
