Snowballing bot lane in Silver?

So I'm still (fairly) new to league (just climbed out of bronze gracias al Senor) and I've seen firsthand at just how incredibly snowbally the game is right now; granted, I don't know almost anything else since I started playing really hard around the time of runes reforged.

SO, my question is this: Since I main mid by a large, large margin, I am always within ganking distance of bot lane- wouldn't it make sense to gank bot EVERY SINGLE GAME and every single opportunity that I get? That puts 2 of our champs ahead and 2 of theirs behind, where you have a global +4 positive impact on your team (+5 counting the gold you yourself get from any assists/kills). So you can effectively influence literally half of the players on the map- why the hell would you not just camp bot at every chance that you get?

Could I climb fast out of silver if I did this since us scrubs are usually too dumb to know how to provide any counterplay? Would this change at higher elos?
