Can we PLEASE punish inters (including soft inters) the same way or worse than toxic writers???
Okay, first of all, take a moment to think about what it is exactly that you're asking for here.
You're asking for people who troll and intentionally feed to be punished in the same capacity as chat toxicity...Which is more lenient in comparison to gameplay toxicity right now.
And you're essentially asking that trolls/intentional feeders be given punishments that are generally ineffectual in relation to the offense - because the first two punishment tiers for chat toxicity are chat restrictions, which would mean literally nothing to trolls and intentional feeders.
Of course, I am focusing primarily on the part where you say "the same way" here, since gameplay toxicity is already punished more harshly than chat toxicity, so the latter statement is a moot point.
It's a God damn fucking travesty that people can int, lightly flame, stay in base while still typing, and get an equal punishment as someone who flames back.
I'm not sure you're playing the same game here. Intentionally feeding is punished with a 14-day ban on the first offense, whereas flaming is punished with a 10-game Chat Restriction on the first offense, exempting hate speech.
They don't get equal punishments; intentional feeders and trolls get harsher punishments than chat offenses. It is (unfortunately) a pretty common misconception to say that trolls are punished equally or more leniently than chat toxicity; the truth is that it's less frequent due to difficulty in ascertaining the offense, not that they're treated equally.
Under zero circumstances should the person who retaliates get pushed more sever than the person who initiates it...
Again, that isn't the case. Assuming both Player A and Player B flame each other, with Player A instigating and Player B retaliating, if both players get reported, both players will get equal punishment. (And, this is assuming that they both flame but don't use hate speech.)
The only cases where one player will get a more severe punishment than another is if they committed a more severe offense; for example, hate speech, encouragements of self-harm, trolling, and intentionally feeding are all punished harsher than chat toxicity and flame.
