Why are we giving an assassin invulnerability to cc?

W - Battle Roar - redesigned Rengar deals magic damage to nearby enemies and heals for 50% of the damage he took in the last 1.5 seconds Ferocity effect: additionally removes crowd control effects and prevents incoming ones for 1.5 seconds

Isn't cc supposed to be the hard counter for assassins? Giving him invulnerabilty to cc for 1.5 seconds while also giving him a cleanse seems... Like a really bad idea. Even if it takes his ferocity which could be better used for damage output, the fact that he can just take any cc off him whenever he wants seems like it's gonna result in a lot of bullshit moments, especially when you consider it can be used at a moment's notice

Yeah but if he uses his empowered W to cleanse CC then he loses the ability to use his empowered Q to shred opponents and his empowered E to snare them.

This, Ferocity also falls off EXTREMELY fast when not in combat as well, Rengar will likely only have time to use one, MAYBE two ferocity empowered abilities before a fight is decided.

he heals 50% of the hp he took in the last second dude not that op actually less useful as a tank because you wouldnt take a lot of damage in 1 second

Somehow I don't think Rengar would make a very good tank, I mean he only has situational burst which needs ferocity for and his Q can be dodged, his only form of CC is his E for a slow, if its not empowered doesn't snare.

Furthermore he only heals for half of the damage he has taken, not the a % of his max health. Honestly, in 1.5 seconds how much damage do you think a tank rengar would've taken?

Seriously doe, how would a tank champion with situational CC, situational damage and situational sustain be viable?

Because he has significantly heavy losses around the rest of his kit to make up for it? And for him to use it, it's a fair tradeoff compared to what he loses?

If he didn't have it how would he even get in with the new camouflage mechanic? He would walk up. Get CC'ed instantly and die for free. Assassins need some way to actually function.

I was thinking the same thing, but actually, after looking through it again, I think its fine, since he really lost alot of jumpig power... You basically have to walk up to your target now, because you can only jump the nearest target...

I hate Rengar, I really do, but I feel sorry for him now...

You can't stack ferocity before a fight it falls off too fast, so you're looking rengar jumping in and using a q e w with no ferocity bonus and then he has a choice - do I burst, do I snare, or do I hold the ferocity for a few seconds in case I get bursted or stunlocked. There's no way he's insta bursting someone without using all abilities and then an empowered q, and even then his q has a decently long estimation so it will never really be instant anymore. Plus he can't just pick out the target he wants to jump on for free since in order to get the crit from his ult he has to jump to the nearest enemy, so if you or your team play half decent with positioning (since you also get an indicator of who is closest to rengar) he should have a hard time landing that crit on anyone meaningful.

So yes, in exchange for all of that added counterplay he gets the situational option to spend his finishing blow meter on not being cc'd to death instead if he wants to. It's not like he'll have it if you catch him out randomly and pick him off since stacks fall of instantly if you are out of combat for 4 seconds either, so 'at will cc immune' is really not a thing.
