He's not so much bursty as his DPS is just REALLY high late game. His only real burst is his Q, and maybe a well timed passive. However, he's designed to just melt everyone equally in relatively the same time period late game regardless of how you built.

Have 400 armor? About half of his damage is true damage so that doesn't matter so much. Have a ton of health? Well he just does so much dmg it just means 1 more second of AAing you.

Basically... stun him or make him waste the ult.... is about your options.

because hard CC heavily counters him. So to reward him dodging it/ Punish you for missing it, You die.

His Q hits up to 5 times per cast. If he uses it on a solo champ, it hits them 5 times. And Q is allowed to crit. And then the double strikes proc jungle item and Guinsoo's 2-3 times per attack, which allows him to stack massive % damage and Q resets. If he has Conquerer that boosts his E too, and also is 35 raw extra AD. That all boosts his Q too. Ironically, the best tactic to kill Yi is to pile up on top of one another so each champ only gets hit once. But then he has teammates who blow you up then.....

This is absolutely, 100%, undeniably untrue. If Yi's Q hit the same person five times, it would nearly one shot people at Level 1, if not one shot. If only one target is present, it simply only hits one target.

I lost some knowledge in the Yi Conquerer Meta somewhere :S

Alpha Strike will technically hit the primary CHAMPION target twice though (if it's a primary champion target the skill ends with an auto attack in addition to the Alpha strike) So I guess it's better to solo bait the Alpha and Zhonya's before it ends... Or stealth in a way that Yi can't keep up with... (I hate him on Pyke because team never bans him, yet they also always feed him, and then I have the privilege of trying to W and E out of a YI while he's already got all his move speed items and can keep right up with me, even if I stun him with E.... and then ofc someone goes in and dies and gives him another 7 seconds to hunt you. That's always fun.....
